i applied for a job at a movie theater where should i go about contacting them . I applied online. All the numbers in the phone book are just automated ones. What would you do? I emailed HR but the email was also automated. I want some answers! TIA.

I would go to the movie theater and ask to speak to the manager. I'm sure they could help you or tell you who could.

If you applied online, just wait to hear back. They might not need help right now, or you might not have the skills or availability they want.

I've gotten to the point that I won't even take phone calls from applicants, and those who apply online and then send an e-mail asking when we're going to contact them never get contacted.

I agree with the earlier comment that you could go to the theatre and ask for the manager, introduce yourself and let them know you are really interested. Don't go during a really busy time of the day, go on a weekday in the middle of the afternoon.

Next time you are in the theater--request to speak with a manager and to ask if they are hiring. If they are let them know that you applied online and ask if by chance they had the chance to review it.

I applied for a grocery store job in high school. They were hiring--but noone called me. I just spoke with the manager when I happened to be there and they did an interview on the spot and sent me for the requisite drug testing and soon after I was hired.

Don't be pushy or sensitive--just stick to non-emotional phrases in your inquiry. If you are pushy or bug them--they will simply not attempt to recruit you further.
