Applied for Disney Visa...how long does it take??

Hi all! For anyone who has applied for the Disney Visa online, can you tell me how long it takes???

I applied through the website posted on the DIS for the 50 reward dollars offer. It has been over 3 weeks and nothing! We have great credit and I don't anticipate any denial. I called an 800 number I found on Chase.com and they told me that none of my information was on file, so they transferred me to another dept.

That department told me that absolutely NOTHING about an applicant is available to anyone (at the bank or the customer) until the 30 day mark.

This does not sound right to me, so I called a different number and spoke to 2 supervisors, and they echoed the other comments. They said the credit dept. (ones who go through the applications) does not put any information into the database AT ALL until after 30 days.

I keep checking because I have never heard of such a thing. In the past I could call after a week and they would have some information (this was CitiCard & Capital one). But Chase has NADA! Since I applied online I am anxious to find out what is going on.

Anyone have this situation? How long did it take for you to get your card and how did you apply? I am very nervous, hopefully you will tell me all is OK.
thanks!!!

Hi, I feel your pain! I applied by phone thinking it would be faster! HA! Jokes on me...it's over a month going on 5 weeks. I had to put my deposit on my trip and booked my family magic tours and a whole bunch of other purchases on another card, for no Disney rewards :sad1:
Anyway, I called a week ago and the customer rep said that I was approved and get this, it was mailed the day before. So, everyday, I run to the mailbox, opening it with such anticipation and ... nothing. What a let down but then... maybe it will be there tomorrow :Pinkbounc
I can't wait to start earning rewards in time for my November trip. Not much time but I will pay all household bills until then so that we'll have a bit extra for the trip. Good luck, I hope yours come soon too.

If there is no record of your application, I would consider reapplying. There should be at least a record that it has been recieved, even if it hasn't been reviewed yet.

I am glad to know someone else went through the same thing I am! I wanted to the exact same thing! I was going to pay the balance of our trip on our card for the extra rewards, didn't happen. I guess they really do make you wait the 4 or 5 weeks whether you get it or not.

As for the reply regarding whether they got my application or not, that is EXACTLY what I was thinking. They should have some kind of record or something, but they do not. They also stated that them not having any record until after th 30 day mark was normal. I thought about reapplying to make sure, but they told me that reapplying might negate the other application and take even longer!

Our vacation begins Oct. 3rd. I thought I had plenty of time to do this, but it is starting to look like I am going to be cutting it pretty close as far as getting the dream rewards in time.

Anyone else have similar problems with Chase or Disney visa?? Any replies would help! thanks!

I applied too about the first week in August. I received an email stating that they received my application within 24 hours of making the application online. Did you receive this email.

I have not heard anything yet.

I applied early in July, hoping to get the card by September so I could start planning a trip. I got an e-mail saying they recieved the application, then got a letter a few weeks later saying they needed to verify my new address. I still don't have the card yet, and when I called them, they had my application in the computer. They can't tell me why it isn't approved yet, or when it might be.

Hopefully soon!!
Jen

I did get the email but no answer and still no info. I would like to do a little test if you all will help me.

Can someone (besides me) who has not received an approval or anything, call the number and see if they have any information on file?

If I can get a couple of people to check and report back, I think we will have a good idea about the process. I check all the time and nothing! I must say it has not been 30 days yet, but still think they should have something!

Anyway, if you want to help, let us know what happens, thanks!

I called again, and they have my information on file, but cannot tell me if I'va been approved, or when I will find out.

Good luck

Jen

My DH's new card just arrived today. Both his and my own card (I had gotten mine last month) took approximately the full 30 days time period for 'approval' to arrive via mail. When we applied, we each received an email stating that the process would take c. 30 days, and that was indeed a pretty accurate estimate.

Hi all, someone must've pixie dusted me cuz we got our new cards TODAY!!

I called this morning (before we got them in the mail) and they STILL said none of our information was available! I do not understand this at all, but that is what happened.

NOW for the REALLY BIG NEWS!!! I am going to do a separate post on this one it's that big!!

When we called to activate our card, the person told me about the benefits of the card, credit limit, etc. She told me that we get one Disney reward dollar for every $50.00 in purchases, not the $100 that was listed on the application. I asked her to double check and she verified it AGAIN!!

To make SUPER SURE, I called the number on the back of the card (customer service) and asked him what my benefits were regarding Disney dream rewards. HE TOO told me that we earn $1.00 for every $50.00 in purchases!!!

I don't know when or why this changed, but I am the PROUD recipient of this new offer. Unless somebody else already posted this and I missed it, this is the 1st I've heard of this offer.

ALSO when we applied it said that only Disney vacation purchases were available for 0% interest for the first 6 months, but ALL purchases are available with the 0% for 6 months!!

Although the application process was "suspect" everything turned out better than I could have ever expected!!! Now I've got to charge it up for our trip!!
Hope this helps everyone else who is waiting, let us know if you get the same rewards!!

Wow, lionqueen that is great! Do you recall when you put in your application. I have been checking in the mail daily, but I think I still need to wait another week or so.

I wonder is the $1 on $50 is just for a certain time period, say 6 months? I also wonder if they have a "preferred" list of clients that they give this too and the rest of us will get $1 on $100??

Way too funny!!! We got ours today as well. Yeah! Can't wait to use it and get some rewards for our trip! The 0% interest is nice too! :cool1:

I put mine in about 3 1/2 weeks ago, so I guess that's pretty fast considering when everyone else got theirs. I truly didn't expect to get anything but the 1% as advertised, but we get 2% for however long we keep the card, so they say.
But again, I'm not going to count my chickens until I get my first DDR card and it all adds up. Fingers crossed and pixie dust never hurts! :rotfl:

Funny, I was looking for all this info when we applied a few weeks ago. We actually had a very good experience with the timing of the card. We also have an upcoming trip in November and wanted to make sure we go the extra $50 before our trip. We applied for the card by phone on 8/11 and just received the card in the mail yesterday! I guess we were lucky. Although I don't know anything about the $1 for every $50. They did confirm that they will automatically send the $50 rewards card 4-6 weeks after our first purchase. :earsboy:

I sent my application in the first week of August. I got my cards back on Aug 23. One card came with my husbands name on it (which is what I wanted), but my card had my mil's name on it. It is under all my info...ss#, address, birthdate etc. After an hour on the phone, being hung up on twice and transferred to at least ten different people, nobody was able to figure out why that was done. They had to cancel that account and now I have to reapply.

I applied July 29th. I got the e-mail but nothing in the mail yet. Been waiting patiently... :rolleyes1 We are leaving Oct. 1 and I was hoping to at least get the gift card by then to get some goodies for the trip, but maybe I will use it to buy Cinderella on dvd when we return home, since it will be released while we are there.

Huh?? They're gonna actually send the card? I don't want them to do that. I thought they would just credit you the rewards and you could order the card at a later date. I don't want my card until next year.

Update - I got my card today!!!!

I already signed up for online account management so I can get free offers and discounts - yay!

That's what they told me....you can call and double check though. They also mentioned that there was a 20 point minimum before a rewards card can be claimed. So, therefore, they claim after the first purchase with the new card you are entitled to the 50 free reward dollars, it would make sense they send it. Maybe you can request something different.:earsboy:

I applied online and received my card in about a week...I do have a good Fico score and another Chase card, so maybe that helped???
