I switched cold turkey back in 2004 and my DH switched fully in 2005 and never had any issues.
Apple's phone support is from the US and you can go to any Apple store and talk with their Genius' and they can usually troubleshoot right then and there for free. If you're out of warranty, they will still fidget with the computer/iPod. They charge once they figure something is wrong and have to send it away or something.
No blue screen of death. The "i" programs work flawlessly together. You import the photo to iPhoto, can add it to an iMovie, add your music from iTunes to iMovie and no extra steps.
And, I know you didn't ask, but the built in Webcams using iChat are far more superior than the PC version. DH has a Macbook in Iraq and I have my own back here. Our video chats do not need to "refresh" and both of us can have them on AND hear each other. All the other guys over there have to turn the mics off or the picture refreshs about every 15-30 seconds.
