So the iPod Nano with the video camera? Very nice! Had I not just bought a Flip cam YESTERDAY (I'm a Journalism major taking an internet writing course this semester - I'll be using it a LOT) I'd have gotten this in a heartbeat - not for the iPod (I've got a lovely 2-year old iPod Video that still works haha) but for the camera.

I'd expect so, but you may have to look around. DH found an old (square) style Nano at Target packaged with a $15 or $25 Itunes card right after the new style came out. It was a really good price, I think we paid around $70 or so, but could be wrong. I do know they were gone really quickly b/c we went back the next day and they were completely cleaned out.

I'm really eying that Ipod Touch, I can almost justify it for school (almost) but that price tag is . Maybe someday.

There may be a price drop, but I don't think i will be huge. The ones at Target were clearanced out because of the special GC packaging. I got dd's nano when the new one came out (the last time) and the best price I could find was $100. If you check apple's website they have the refurbs (last generation) at $100 for an 8GB but maybe they will go a bit lower with the holidays coming.
The refurb 8GB touch is $149, thats not too bad.

My ds just bought an 8gb ipod touch in late June with his Birthday money and money he saved up from mowing the lawn and etc. now he's all mad that the price dropped. I know it's only $30 but to him that's lawn mowing and yardwork he did lol. Poor thing, this always happens to him, saves up to buy something and then they drop the price a short while later.

This sparks my only real beef with apple, they release new improved versions of their technology too closely behind the original and usually don't drop the price of the old version enough or have some way to refund people the difference (who just bought the old vers. a reasonably short time before the new release).

I went looking around the net for sales on old nano's and saw the 16gb on amazon for $149 so I'm assuming that's as low as it will get for now. You can get the new 16gb nano with a vid camera, fm tuner, external speaker and other nifty gadgets for just $30 more at $179.

Learned the hard way buying my son's Ipod Mini (remember those?) the week before his Sept. 12th birthday--The nano was released a week or so later. These announcements and new improved products usually come out around his birthday every year. Live and learn.

Before all this, DS wanted an 8g touch for his bday (Dec.), but now that the 32g has the voice thing and a remote he wants that instead. I said I was willing to get him an 8g, but if he had to have the 32g he'd have to pay for half of it himself.

I'm actually quite excited about the new nanos; considering snatching one up today to kill off some Best Buy Reward Zone certificates that are burning a hole in my purse right now. I mainly use my current nano in the car and work out with my iPhone, but both get used every day and the new colors are just so purrrrrrrrrrrrty.
