Appetizers for kids?

We are on the dining plan with 2-9 year olds and a 7 year old who will not be happy with just chicken/mac while the adults are getting steak, etc. Can anyone tell me if the kids get an appetizer off the adult menu if there is not one on the kids menu?

We are eating at Spoodles and are very pleased with their kids menu. However, more of the restaurants don't have nice kids menus like that.

Any experiences to share?

We went in July Kids were 2 and 5 every table service we had we ordered appetizer for son off adult menu know when ever said anything they encouraged us to get appetizer for everyone even if they didn't want it 2 year old wasn't on plan so ordeing that extra app. gave us chance to make sure everyone had enough food with out spending extra money

I am happy you asked about this! I was so worried before our recent trip (just got back about 2 weeks ago) about my son and the dining plan! Like you, we knew there was no way he would be happy with mac & cheese and chicken nuggets!

Yes, our son was able to order an "adult" appetizer if there was not one available on the kid's menu.

He was also able to order off the adult menu at all of the CS meals (except tat the ASMovie foodcourt). I was thrilled with that! Tangeriene Cafe was his fav!

Worrying about the awful kid's menus was the only thing that had me stressed out about going to Disney. Yet it turned out wonderfully! He did get his favs-lamb, salmon, couscous, tabbouleh and so on-and even came home with a few new favs like raw tuna & seaweed and hummus.

We just returned from WDW after Labor Day and my daughter, who was considered a child on the dining plan, ordered appetizers from the adult menu at Whispering Canyon, Kona, Le Cellier and Shutters. It was even pointed out by the CM's at all of these places that she was entitled to do this.
