Does anyone have any suggestions for appetizers are tasty entrees? I'm a light eater, and going to WDW solo. I thought that ordering an appetizer would be preferrable over paying for an entree, then eating half of it and throwing away the rest. Any suggestions?

I've had appetizer meals a few times throughout the world. California Grill, Jiko and Citricos are where I've done it a few times. Any of them would have good choices for whatever your tastes may be.

I agree with California Grill. They have flatbreads that are huge as an appetizer. My DH and I can't even split one and have room for dinner! Narcoosee's at GF has crab cakes with slaw that I've gotten for my dinner. With the bread they serve and dessert, I leave very satisfied! :goodvibes I have also had the Kona Salad and crab cakes or chowder at Kona Cafe (Poly) as my dinner...

In restaurants outside "the World" I often order an appetizer and dessert instead of an entree. I've never done it at Disney though. For those of you who have, did you feel that it was frowned upon or anything? That's what has kept me from doing it.

I am a fairly light eater (DD and I usually split all our CS meals), and I love dessert. If I attempt to eat an entree, I never finish it, and I don't have room for dessert either. :headache:

There's so many options!

At the California Grill, many of the first courses are outstanding. I also love their flatbreads and sushi. The Spicy Kazan roll would make an excellent meal.

At the Kona Café, the duck pot stickers or any of the Kona Island Sushi Bar's rolls would make a great meal. I think the braised mussels sound very good too.

At Jiko, again, the flatbreads, the wild boar tenderloin and the tibs watt are excellent.

At Sanaa, the sampler and the bread service are outstanding. If you don't want the whole sampler, the potato and pea samosas and the pulled duck are both worth ordering on their own.

Ye, I can agree with the bread sampler. One night, after the tour of Sanaa resturant, the Chef brought out a bread sampler as a sample of the Sanaa's offerings. What she didn't know was that I was the only one on the tour. So the bread sampler, along with a drink, became my dinner that night.

Not frowned on at all...I am also a light eater and just can't see ordering what I know I can't eat. Even when my DH and I are sharing an entree, most of the time it will come out already spit on 2 plates. :) And I agree about the bread service at Sanaa....LOVE it!!! :cloud9:
