Appetizer/Entree

Maybe. Depends on what the individual restaurant's policy is (or even on what your server thinks the individual restaurant's policy is)

I couldn't at Chef's de France last year.

We were on the DxDDP and I wanted two appetizers instead of an appetizer and entree and was refused. The waiter said we had to order exactly as the plan states ('one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert').:confused3

I was able t do this last xmas trip at Kouzzina with no problem. got calamari appetizer as my entree and we were on ddp.

Connears

Has anyone tried this at Brown Derby on the DxDDP? None of the entrees jump out at me, but the tuna and the cobb salad appetizers both sound fabulous.

The menu I looked at (sorry, don't remember if it was Allears or wdwinfo) had the Cobb salad as an entree (as well as an appetizer). If this is correct, you are set - have the tuna as your appetizer and the salad as your entree.

in general, we've found the most flexibility at the Disney-owned restaurants. Places like Les Chefs tend to "stick to the rules" perhaps because they may have a more difficult time getting correct compensation if your order varies from the plan. The independents contract with Disney to provide an entree/dessert/beverage for a specific price, and they must prove that they actually provided the foods they're claiming, so when the appetizer rings up under the appetizer category instead of entree category, they may not get reimbursed by Disney for that. Perhaps the computer system does not allow them to ring apps under entree category...I would guess all menu listings are tied to inventory systems, too so chances are they do not allow for "free-form" entry. You enter what is ordered with little choice to categories.

The Disney-owned restaurants may be on a more flexibly inventory-control system that allows them to ring food up under discretionary categories.
