appearance trends you dislike

Trends other people participate in - eh, you do you. :confused3

Trends I've noticed but that I don't plan to follow -
Purposely ripped clothing
Super short ladies hair cuts
Tattoos on the face/neck
PJs in public

Hair colors not found in nature. Purple, blue, pink, especially green.

You know that nasty black/green combo that Billie Eilish did. 🤢 That's the worst. Makes everyone look sick. It's like walking around with a sign that says "I hate myself and want to be ugly."

I am not a fan of some of those colors either. I see green and I just immediately think somebody tried to color their hair and something went horribly wrong and it just ended up looking like that :rotfl2:

I think it really depends on the person what (if any) unnatural color "works" for them. I think unnatural color streaks like Avril Lavigne a lot of times for example are super cute.

I also think that burgundy looks great a lot of people. However, I know my limitations and I am afraid I would look like a goofus if I tried it myself.

After reading through this thread and the one about things you don't like in houses, makes me glad you all aren't my real life friends or you would be judging me every which way. I like many of the house trends from that thread and like bright colored hair, leggings, and many of the other things in this thread.

I know people who have really large gauges in their ears that distend the tissue to an extreme degree. To each their own, but it’s not for me.

I’m perfectly fine with tattoos, some people have some amazing, professional ink work.

However…. It’s the badly executed ones that are cringey, some are even hilarious. An eagle that looks like a melting duck, or a baby’s portrait that looks like the Toxic Avenger.

Especially if those really bad tattoos are on the face, where you couldn’t hide them.

Moana fans, sing!
“And those crappy tattoos on your face,
are a map of the bad choices you’ve made!”

I should include extreme body modification too, especially the kind that involves severing a perfectly healthy limb, nose, ear, other particularly sensitive areas, etc.

Older people trying really hard to look young. They're not fooling anyone but themselves.
Like an adult wearing an Elmo onesie?

sleepwear anywhere other than home

*** I did keep my pj's on when I went to the emergency room a few years ago
I remember during the lockdown, seeing multiple people in sleepwear shopping for snacks. My guess is this was their binge-watching intermission.
