The title says it all...we just recieved notification today.

As you can imagine, we are shocked and upset. The next step (stage 3, as they call it) is to go in and appeal in person, with the attorney general's office supporting us. However, since we already gave them every piece of medical information that is available (our case manager said that our stage 2 appeal looked like a stage 3 one) I don't know how much hope there is.

I never imagined we would be in a situation like this. I thought that insurance companies would be behind you if you had a serious illness in your family, not fighting you tooth and nail so that they don't have to pay for treatment. Believe me, if we could pay for this ourselves we would do it in a split second, but the treatments cost about $15,000 monthly.

We are sick over this. I just wanted to share with you all since I didn't want to leave you hanging.

Sharon. I do hope the Atty General's office will be of some help. I do wish you the best in this endeavor.

Sharon,
Really don't know what to say. This is outrageous! If you have enough left in you, take the fight to the next level. What were their excuses for not covering these expenses?
On a happier note, watch out for an LBE in the mail. I'm posting it tomorrow.

Sharo, I am so sorry to read this note from you. My thoughts & prayers are with you all as you continue this fight. As a very small tidbit - I went to the post office today :).

Sharon,

I am so sorry to hear your bad news. Hopefully, the personal appeal will work for you.

Hang in there.

My prayers are with you totally.. Just think to your self God provides every human need...

I would certainly try the next appeal, especially if the AG office is behind you. Perhaps a letter from the AG to take to the Insurance co?

Anyway, my prayers are with you, and as much pixie dust as I can send your way.

Ashley

Sharon,
All I can do is wish you good luck and tell you I am hoping and praying for you to hear good news soon about this.
Lyme disease is such a terrible disease, most doctors feel that the person stricken is "making up" the symptoms and they should just get up and cut it out.
As someone who lives daily with a Lyme Disease sufferer I know that there are good time and bad, but all in all it is a terrible disease to have and I would like to see insurance's begin believing and trying to treat those afflicted. Peggie

I'm so sorry to here this Sharon. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I am just sick of these insurance companies and their nonsense. On a much lesser scale the did the same to me, cutting my physical therapy because my back was 'healed'......then why, pray tell can I not stand or walk for greater than 15 minutes and have been out of work on disability for going on 3 years?? Makes NO sense.

I think of all of you so often and always have you in my prayers. Please continue the fight. Perhaps seeing how this denial affects REAL people it will sink into these idiots.

HUGS
