The title says it all...we just recieved notification today.
As you can imagine, we are shocked and upset. The next step (stage 3, as they call it) is to go in and appeal in person, with the attorney general's office supporting us. However, since we already gave them every piece of medical information that is available (our case manager said that our stage 2 appeal looked like a stage 3 one) I don't know how much hope there is.
I never imagined we would be in a situation like this. I thought that insurance companies would be behind you if you had a serious illness in your family, not fighting you tooth and nail so that they don't have to pay for treatment. Believe me, if we could pay for this ourselves we would do it in a split second, but the treatments cost about $15,000 monthly.
