because he showed up at my house yesterday . . . .yup, well, maybe not the "real" mickey . . .but his shorter more furry cousin did. . . ::yes::

I was out doing errands and received a call from DH stating that I needed to pick up a trap . . .ok, so my first words were (how stupid this sounds afterwards) "did you see a mouse?" :confused3 He's like uhhhh yeah, DUH! So, I know which kind of trap he is looking for, but nobody seemed to have it . . .it took 4 different stores to find what he wanted cause god knows I'd get an attitude if I brought home the wrong one . . . :rolleyes2

Apparently our little buddy came up from the basement while DH was in the family room and the little guy just sat there and was staring at DH . . .maybe it was  at first sight? :confused3 Anyways, DH gets up, and the poor little guy goes bolting back downstairs . . . :lmao: DH went looking for him, but he must have the perfect hiding spot and was probably laughing at DH.

Well, we set the trap, and apparently our little guy isn't very hungry or has a peanut allergy or maybe he just hates peanut butter cause he isn't caught yet . . .DH is a bit :furious: about this . . .DS won't go practice his drums cause he's scared . . . :rolleyes2 and I just find the whole thing :rotfl2:

So now as we sit and wait there is a nice huge rolled up towel at the door of the basement so our little guy can't come back up and visit . . .I haven't seen him . . .and he isn't caught . . .I'm beginning to think he's a :figment: of DH's imagination . . . :rotfl2:

It might (hopefully) be a figment of his imagination, but don't take a chance. Here is the solution: no "humane traps." Mice will eat the bait and lick their way right back out. You need snap traps, baited with peanut butter, dusted with oatmeal, and topped with cheese (preferably stinky cheese). You don't want to wait with mice--they breed fast, and they are MESSY!

PS: regarding your towel, don't be so sure. Mice can squeeze into gaps the size of a nickel...and they can chew right through your towel.

:rotfl2: Too funny. You know choosey moms choose Jif. Maybe he didn't like your brand. :rotfl:

I "thought" I saw one in our sitting room at 2:30 AM just before Christmas-then dismissed it as part of my imagination. Then we "heard" chewing behind the fridge. Then we saw the "evidence" along the wall.

I decided to get glue traps as I could not figure out how to set the snap ones. When we moved the couch out-we found it had chewed a hole through the bottom and chewed through the bottom of the cushions. Now it's war--went to WalMart and bought 12 more glue traps. Within 24 hours, our "friend" was stuck in the doorway of the laundry room.

We also had an inflatable bounce house in our shed for the winter. We drug it our and found holee, huge unpatchable holes in the house-along with 4 dead mice. YUK!!!

You need an all out assault to get rid of the thing.

We use the glue traps, but I didn't want to say that in fear of people freaking out because those traps are very inhumane (IMHO) . . .but it's the only kind of trap to use IMHO because they do eventually become hungry or curious enough to wonder why there is a heaping tablespoon of peanut butter just sitting in the middle of it . . .

Hmmmm . . .maybe JIF is what choosy mice prefer . . .but we are a Skippy house . . .the mouse will just have to deal with it . . . :lmao: :rotfl2:

Unfortunately having a $300.00 bounce house destroyed and a 2K furniture set nearly ruined changes things. In addition, the droppings are unsanitary for your family-whatever works quick-regardless of humaneness-is what needs to be done.
