Hi. I was wondering if anyone has an IPhone App they might suggest we use for our trip.
Each of us will be on a souvenir budget (me, wife, 3 kids) with $50 each to spend on souvenirs. The money will come from one "pot", but each person has a max of $50 they can spend. I am looking for an iphone app that we can track how much each person has spent and possibly even being able to enter what each item purchased is. Any thoughts or experiences with a specific app?
Thanks! :goodvibes

I use a free app called Cashish to track my daily spending IRL. It could be adapted to use just for Disney spending by adding categories for each person. Just set up one spending category in each person's name. Whenever they spend money, it can be entered under their name along with a note for what it was spent on. It takes a little time to set up and then learn how to use, but I love it for tracking those little cash transactions that would otherwise get forgotten.

Buy everyone a $50 gift card. When it's gone, it's gone. :confused3

We do not want to carry cash and/or gift cards around. We are looking to charge everything via magic bands to the room, which lumps all purchases into one bucket. But thanks for the idea!

I use YouNeedABudget for this on a daily basis for all our spending. You could easily make a trip budget and track spending with their app. It has a 34 day free trial so you could always use it for one trip with no cost. A lot of people on the board swear by it, so it could end up being end more helpful. They also offer a 20% discount for Disboard members

I was coming here to suggest that too. It's an awesome app and way of keeping track daily.

You can get a print out of room charges from the front desk at any time & it will list who/which band made each charge & where it was made.

Not as convenient as an app but its free :confused3

That will only work if the OP's children have charging privileges on their MBs. Otherwise the charges will only be registered under the adults' bands.

It also becomes confusing if a single transaction involves purchases made by multiple family members. The room folio will not show a breakdown of the individual items. It will only show the final amount charged in that transaction.

We use GoodBudget (formerly EEBA). It's awesome, super easy to use, can be synced to multiple devices or accessed from the web, and is free.

I would use an expense app. Pretty much any app that tracks expenses would allow you to setup a category for each family member

I used YNAB for our cruise last month and I just created a category under Vacations for DCL 2014 and it worked beautifully. I used the memo section for more detail but I know exactly how much I spent on our trip, on who, and for what. I love it and will use it again. It will help me plan for spending money much better for our next trip too.
