App. available for Child on DDP?

I was looking at the disney website, and on the brochure for the DDP it states that for the TS it includes "Appetizer(ages 3-9 only), Entree, Dessert, beverage". I am confused. Can a child order an app. but not the adults? I thought they removed the app from the basic plan. Is there anywhere that a child has a choice of an appetizer on the children's menu? Someone please clarify. TIA

The app for kids is typically a small lettuce salad or chicken noodle soup...nothing fancy.

The "appetizer" is included in the children's meal only - these are presented as three course meals. Disney wanted to market the children's menu meals as "balanced" meals including all the food groups, so they want to include all courses. The first course, as noted, is generally going to be something like a cup of soup or a small salad.

Children cannot order appetizers off the regular menu.
