APH rate at HRH - questions

Hi,
I'm new here. Thinking about a trip to Universal over Christmas. We are a family of 5 so we'd like to get a deluxe room with the pullout sofa. I can get a super saver rate of $351 per night for 4 nights, or an annual pass rate of $259.

My questions are:
Will they ask for the annual pass when I check in? I haven't bought the pass yet, so if I buy it at the gate, I won't have it at check in.

Which annual pass do I need? It looks like the $189 preferred pass would work. Is this correct?

Any other ways to get a lower rate, or is $259 the best I'm going to do for a deluxe room?

When we went we purchased our annual pass online before going and then if they asked to see if we could show them the receipt and let them know we were on the way to pick it up. They didn't ask but they could have.

We bought the preferred pass. The power pass does not give you the discount.
