has anyone seen AP rates for RPR in July? Do they usually have those discounts in the peak season? I'm planning on being there July 13-20 or July 10-17 depending on rates. 5 nights will be at RPR and the other 2 or 3 will be at AKL hopefully.

Just some info for July, www.leakycon.com have a convention at RPR from 13th till 17th July, and a lot of rooms booked at PBH as well, so would need to get it booked now, while there is still availablity for those dates.
APH not out yet only up to 1st week in June

thanks for the info...I am going to leaky con so I know it will be crowded at hotel but can't afford 269/night. I was trying to see if it would be cheaper to stay at the Hampton inn again and rent a car.

I have stay more rate booked for 16th till 30th july, saw it at $188 midweek and $202 for weekend, so got it booked, think that rate is long gone now.

All thats left for the Stay more save more are King suites for those dates. Then the standard rate is high also but rooms are available.

boooo that stinks. I'll have to keep checking the web site I guess.

Leakycon reserved a block of rooms at the Crowne Plaza hotel. Did you check there?

Also - before you buy an Annual Pass to get the room discount -- I assume you will want to go to the Leakycon event at Islands of Adventure on Wednesday night. They have been saying that it might be tied to park admission you buy specially for Leakycon. That didn't sound right to me, but they keep saying that if you have an annual pass there could be issues getting the ticket to this event. If you click on Formspring at the bottom of the leakycon website, there are a lot of questions and answers posted.

Play around with the universalorlando website, since your days aren't definite. Check for availability for the minimum number of nights needed for the discount (can't remember if it's 3 or 4). You might find that there is one day for which the Stay More Save More discount is not available. If you book earlier or later, you might be able to get the discount.

Sounds like Leakycon is going to be huge -- over 2000 people registered so far.

I did see they opened a block at Crowne Plaza. Personally I really wanted to stay on site if possible to be able to walk to room between events and such. Plus with the concerts on so on in the evenings at the hotel it just seemed easier. I was hoping to use my AP to help keep costs down. I got my AP for a Christmas present so that was awesome!! if I can't get on site, I'd rather stay at the Hampton on Windhover since it is cheap and nice. It has freebies too (parking, shuttle, breakfast, internet).

Oh well...gotta keep trying. 2000 muggles determined to have an epic end to this epic time. WOW history in the making :wizard:

We went last year during the Harry Potter convention. Did not know it until after plans were made and airfare bought. I originally booked in mid-March and AP rates came out in later March or early April. Book them as soon as they come out as they went fast last year when I wanted to add a day instead of visiting my sister (who was coming to USO to be with us). We are heading down early July this year and are hoping for AP rates. Not counting on it, though, because PBH appears to be pretty booked.

You went to Infinitus 2010? I hear the Muggle Count for that was about where the Leakycon numbers are (over 2000 registered so far). Was it a mob scene at the hotel? Was it a mob scene at the private event at the Harry Potter section of Islands of Adventure?

(OP, sorry if I'm hijacking. Thought you might want to know this, too.)

I have been checking every day for almost a month. I called today and the recep. told me APH rate for late June won't even be out til mid April. I don't understand this :(

no worries...It would be good to know. I know there will be tons of events at the hotel so I assume the lobby and such will be bustling. The park maybe not as much since people will be at events.

We stayed at RPR during Infinitus 2010, found it to be ok. Plenty of peeps about , but did not impact on the resort or pool area, it was similar to previous summers we have stayed.
Plenty of them dressed up especially in the evenings, and restaurants at the resort had lots more in them as usual, but always managed a table. Had a Great Night in Jakes Karoke [i dont do singing] lots in there and had a great time with lots from the convention, although started to quieten down just before 10pm, when they all started to head for WWHP

We were not part of the Infinitus. It just so happened that we were there the same time as they were. I honestly can not tell the effects of being there the same time as Infinitus. HP was new so it was going to be crowded no matter what. They had they exclusive access to HP one night so we did not go to IOA that afternoon or evening. PBH had a little more activity than normal but we still found the resort a tranquil place to return to after the park. We did enjoy seeing the many in the Infinitus group dressed in full HP attire. Be at IOA for opening and the crowds are managable. I recall that we specifically went the morning after the Infinitus evening event at HP which worked out well.

I know! I've been checking for two months now. They have the rates released for the first weekend in June, but not the 2nd (when we are going). I don't want to wait until April to book that.

Does anyone know if I can book it at the current rate and then get the AP rate later? I guess I could call and ask, but sounds like they won't let you do that.

Yes, you can go ahead and secure your room and change to the
aph rate when they come out.

April seems too far away but at least there will be an AP rate. Now if I could only get a discount for AKl too then it would be smooth sailing

I have read you cannot do this. That they will have to cancel your reservation and book another with APH and that they often find there is no APH rate "available" in this situation.

As long as you book as soon as the APH rates come out, you will be fine. You need to keep watching. Changing dates is the case that becomes more difficult.
