Not sure if you all noticed, but for the Mac Users running Snow Leopard, the Mac App Store launched today.

And Apple has Apeture 3 up there for only $79.99 (normally double that). So if you own a Mac and are looking to get into Apeture, it's a pretty good deal.

Wow, that's awesome. Might have to jump on that.

WOW! That is too good to pass up. I think I'm going to get it. Thanks for the heads up.

I saw that too. Just wondering what people think of Apeture.

Anybody care to relate their experience with Aperture?

I have had aperture for a while now. I probably use the bare basics and only touch the surface of what it can do but as a complete beginner i found it very easy to use. HTH.

Its pretty powerful. I'm in the process of uploaded my iPhoto pictures to it now and then am gonna figure out how to import new pictures after that. I've used the trial last year and found it pretty easy, but way to expensive at $199. For $79 though I'm going to give it a real workout. That is if I can get out and take some new pictures.

Good feedback. Thanks.

I'm doubting I'll use the advanced features. Right now though I frequently touch-up my pictures in iPhoto. Generally I just wind up toning down the highlights and decreasing exposure slightly.

But I just got a DSLR and expect to do some more serious shooting (purely for pleasure, this isn't a job) and wasn't sure if I wanted to spend a lot of money on photo editing software beyond what I've already got.

I use it all the time. I just can't wrap my head around photoshop. But Aperture is very easy to use and does quite a bit if you are looking to work on color or exposure correction or take out basic flaws, etc.

I used to be an Aperture 3 junkie, but there were a few things that started to bug me the more advanced I became. Plus, I found it sluggish compared to Lightroom. Aperture is a good program and I still use it to create albums and organize my iPad portfolio, but for the heavy processing I recommend Lightroom 3. It is extremely easy to use and integrates well with Photoshop.
