Not yet an AP holder, but a Florida resident despite moving just last week temporarily out of state. Two questions: Is it worth getting the Sorcerer Pass for discounted resort rate? And, is possible a current AP holder to see what the AP rates are for December 4-9, 2023? Thanks in advance!

Mousesavers keeps a list of current and historical discounts. Right now, the AP discount is listed as 15-40% for December 4-9 on "select" resorts. Typically, the discount on higher level resorts is a higher percentage than lower level, but it can vary all the way down to room type and the exact date.

Anyone can call and ask for an AP discounted room quote.

Typically, AP room discounts aren't enough better than discounts available to the general public to make it worth the pass. For example, Mousesavers has the general public room discount at 15-30%. So MAYBE you'll be better off by 10%. The math works much better to be planning over 10 park days and/or two separate trips.

My advice when this question comes up (and it comes up often) is to remember that an AP is an admission ticket only. Buy it if you are planning enough visits to make it a good value for admission only. Don’t buy it planning on the “perks” making it a better value.

Any “perks” are solely at the discretion of Disney and can be changed or removed at any time. You could buy a pass tomorrow and Disney could decide the following day to not offer any further discounts on resorts, dining, and merchandise. Do I think that is likely? Probably not. However, if the last few years have taught us anything where Disney is concerned, it has shown us that what is typical today may be modified or gone tomorrow.

FYI, I just looked for AP discounts and Fla Res discounts for your dates for two adults and CSR is the only resort showing availability at this time. The only room able to accommodate more than two is the one bedroom suite. Of course, availability can change at any momentIMG_9666.jpeg IMG_9667.jpegIMG_9668.jpeg

I’ve been watching those dates and pickings have been slim. Lots of full price rooms.

Still annoyed Disney pulled the D+ and general public discount offers so early this time 🙄

I wouldn't buy a pass based on what kind of discounts I can get, but how often and when you're going to use it. I'm a Florida resident and we have Pirate. It works really well for us. We have a combination of friends who have Sorcerer, Pirate, and Pixie. None of them purchased for the discount but when and how often they go. The resort discount is the same no matter which pass you have.

I also would not buy an AP for the resort discount, because a FL resident discount is normally just 5% less see below. Like radky mentioned, it's best to decide on the AP based on the number of days you think you will be going within a year. Based on say the Sorcerer AP, the break even point for a FL Resident is right around 11 days. Then you can add the additional 5% room discount as a bonus:)

As an AP holder for many years, I would say the last 6+ years I got better discounts NOT using the AP discount. While it used to literally almost pay for our APs (2 of us 4-6 weeks a year) lately I've used other discounts.

What is important is that there are only so many rooms per discount. It's not like as an AP I automatically get a discount. Often there are no rooms available for my dates where I would want to stay.

You are only guaranteed discount is parking, shopping and some dining.
