Caveat: we're new APholders so I'm still learning even that side of things so be kind...our 7-day window is opening up Friday and it's a short 2 park day visit so don't want to muck this up.

One day scenario:
AP family plus one guest that has a park hopper ticket....this guest of ours hasn't been in many years so I'm really wanting to ensure I get a few key rides for him.
We AP holders have to make park reservations (Incredipass) but the park hopper fellow does not.
Ideal state:
Skyliner from Pop to Epcot in morning, ride Guardians (SLL), grab bite to eat, then skyliner to DHS in afternoon.
Will buy a morning Guardians SLL and afternoon Rise SLL....park reservations don't have an impact on the ability to make these. (Correct?)
We don't care about Epcot MPLL and want them for DHS that afternoon/evening (Tower, RnRC, etc).
Will the system let me make DHS LL selection if our reservation is for Epcot that day? I don't think so but am now completely twisted up.

If the above won't work for us, would love suggestions....we have Roundup Rodeo dinner reservations and wanted to go to Fantasmic, hence the reason for doing DHS second that day, but frankly the teens care amore about Tower of Terror and RnRC more than just about anything else.

thank you!!
(WHY IS THIS SO HARD ARRRRGH)

Can't give you a definitive answer, but since no one else has replied... here are my thoughts based on my understanding of the new system:
- An AP holder is allowed to enter parks without a reservation after 2pm (except MK on the weekend)
- You should, at the very least, be allowed to book in advance MPLLs that are timed for after 2pm without a reservation for that park.
- You can book in advance SPLLs for your second park - you could do that with the old Genie + system so I see no reason why you could not continue to do so

As implied, this is an educated guess based on past experiences with old systems and info gleaned on the new system. Maybe someone else with experience will chime in. You could try chatting with Disney too, though CMs are not always reliable when it comes to tricky questions - better if someone can give you the benefit of personal experience

Just wanted to clarify on one of my comments - an AP holder can hop from their reserved park to the next park at any time. They can enter their first park after 2pm without a reservation (aside from MK on the weekend)

Will the 1 day ticket holder be staying on-site with you and are they linked to your reservation in MDE since you mentioned a 7-day early booking window? I this 1 day Guest ticket a new dated ticket or an older style ticket that may actually also require a Park Reservation?

Yes your LLSP selections can be purchased in 2 different parks. The system will only prompt you to enter you choice for the first park to enter. This allows it to list earlier return times for your initial park, in this case Epcot.

Will the system let me make DHS LL selection if our reservation is for Epcot that day? I don't think so but am now completely twisted up.
Yes the LLMP and/or LLSP purchases and selections don't relate to Park Reservations that AP guests are still required to make. Your park reservation is only for your AP tickets in your example Epcot to determine which park you will enter First. You will want to select DHS for your LLMP selections and pay the HS daily LLMP Fee. You will be able to make your initial 3 selections for LLMP attractions at HS.

The only possible limiting issue is your Roundup Rodeo dinner reservations. The LL system will try not to allow you to book LLMP and/or LLSP selections that may overlap your dinging reservation by a large amount.

Thank you for the input on this! To circle back in case anyone is looking for similar information on what happened when I booked last Friday (at 4am PST due to travel, MAN i feel for you west coasters!!)

Our non-AP guest is linked in MDE (which involved multiple calls to Disney IT but that's another story...) and I was able to book all of our LLSP and LLMP at once. ✅

Confirmed that AP park reservation had no impact on which LLSP or LLMP I could book, and I could book 1 LLSP in one park and the 2nd in another. ✅

I actually couldn't get a LLSP Guardians for Saturday 9/21 in the a.m. 8 days out (checking in Friday 9/20) so had to grab one for evening. So I quickly flipped our plans and grabbed DHS LLMP for the afternoon and was able to move our Roundup Rodeo to lunchtime instead of dinner. ✅ Not entirely ideal but we'll make the most of it.

As a side note, I was able to get Tiana's LLMP for Sunday 9/22 no problem, there was plenty of availability when I was tinkering around with the times...and that had been one of my main worries. ✅✅✅

Packing our ponchos and changes of socks and shoes for what looks to be a rainy weekend and off we go to our first ever Halloween party experience Friday night!

Thanks for the update. Glad you were able to find something that works for you.
Looking at the NOAA site, I'm not seeing any extraordinarily rainy weather for the weekend - just a low chance of the typical Florida summer afternoon thunderstorm. I think that's just about the best forecast you can expect during the extreme hot months. Good to be prepared though.
Have fun!
