Ok guys, I'm one confused person here! The DH and I are planning a trip from Nov. 1 - Nov. 8, and wish to stay at the HRH club level, do the HHN, and the new addition to WWOHP. The last time (and first) we were there was in 2009. I know we will have the Unlimited Express Pass from the Onsite Hotel, but I'm wondering....for that many days...would it be better (cost wise) to buy the AP, the Vacation Package, or book it all separate (knowing I will need to add the HHN tickets at a later date). Also, if I book a package, can I add to it a later date if I wish to buy dining, HHN tickets, etc.. This is all new to me and I'd like to do it all on my own instead of using an Agent. Booking and planning is half the fun!!!! Any advice on the resorts is appreciated also (we have only stayed at HRH) we are just sticking with what we know at the moment!
Thanks in advance for the advice and help!!!

I think you are better off buying tickets and hotel separately...there is no penalty if you have to cancel. Also...November 1st is on a Saturday but there's no indication HHN will continue through that weekend right now. I have a feeling it will but I wouldn't assume it will extend past Halloween night.

I totally agree with Metro. Do everything separately and watch for price reductions.

A statement that goes along with the OP's words...I believe that dining packages at universal aren't part of A package, but can be bought separately, yes? So having a package isn't something the OP has to have, in order to get the dining package?

Thanks for the advice, everyone!

So I'm better off booking them seperately and moving my dates back to be sure I can catch the HHN's? Can I do the HHN in one night? I want to make sure I have enough time to see them but I'm not good with crowds so I don't want to spend my whole vacation overcome by the extra crowds surrounding just that event. Would it be better to go toward the beginning of the HHN's? I know they're only on the weekends toward the beginning which would leave the rest of the week to enjoy the parks in quiet...just curious as to your opinions. Also, have any of you had any experiences with the AP's?

Thanks again for all your help! :thumbsup2

Crowd wise its always best to try and go at the beginning of the event if at all possible. I've been going for ten years and have gone throughout the month. Crowds really get bad towards the end of the month. You can do HHN in a single night if you use Stay & Scream do get a jump on the houses and skip the rides that are open.

Based on past dates, the first weekend will be September 19 & 20...only Friday and Saturday opening weekend. The next week will kick off on Thursday so you'll have Thursday through Sunday night.
