Hey everyone! I have a hunch about the answer to this but want to ask the US experts!!! :) :)

I am staying at RPR 6 nights and got the 2 free 7 days passes to US/IOA with my stay. I just bought an AP (2 yrs for $180 on Costco.com YAY!) so I don't technically need my 7 day pass, although my boyfriend will. Now, are these hard tickets that I get with my hotel stay...as in, I could sell it if I don't use it. I am guessing they are not, and are somehow linked to my room card? Either way, the 2 yr AP was an awesome deal and I am very glad I bought itl! :)

Thanks in advance for the clarification!

Wouldn't it be cheaper to book the super saver rate or AP rate and just buy a ticket for your boyfriend? You can get a 7 day pass for unlimited both parks for $86. Also if you or your boyfriend belong to AAA, you can get a great hotel discount too. Just call and ask for AAA rate or APH rate.

i am assuming you bought the package or the promo of receive the passes with the room.

if that is the case, the tickets would be valid during your stay.
did you receive the tickets already?

Consider this post null & void! :) :)

My original price was $1047 & that included two $86 7 day passes. I didn't even realize that was included until my Dreams agent told me yesterday. :P

So we canceled that whole reservation & made a new one, sans passes, with annual passholder rate for $787~!! Yay!!

Now, quick followup question. I have to have the annual pass in hand when I check in for my AP rate, correct? I have the voucher right now to exchange at Universal so I think I have to zip over to Universal and exchange that quickly before checking in.

you can get away with it.

if you are asked about the ap when you check in, show them the voucher.
if they don't accept it, you can still use the ap rate at the hotel.

they will tell you that you have to show the ap before you check out. if you don't, you would be charged rack rate. so, you have time to get the ap.

some of the times, they never ask to see the ap.
and if they do, they give you the opportunity to redeem the voucher for it.

it will all work out.

so glad you checked your rate and the amenities.
many times you really are paying for those "extras" you assume are free.

So true! I appreciate your help with the AP check-in situation! :) :) I'm such a Universal noob as this is my first trip there as an adult. :dance3:

You beat me to the link! :)
I had no idea it's only $99 to renew...that's awesome! I will definitely be renewing...forever! The discounts with the AP are AH-mazing! :) :)

Sorry, I just got ours too and I'm really excited to get 2 yrs for the price of 1. We're going in Sept. and Nov. so hotel savings right there will pay for 1 AP. :woohoo: :yay:
The funny part is, I didn't even find this deal on the Disboards. Dh found it on a website called slickdeals.com. It's a message boards all about posting great deals.

That is too funny~! I found it on SlickDeals, too! I actually replied on SlickDeals with my same user id :) :) And the same thing went for me...the amount I saved on the hotel room alone paid for the AP. :) :)
