AP Vouchers for hotel discounts

I looked in the locked ticket thread and couldn't immediately find this answer, so sorry if it's already there!

I bought 3 AP vouchers from AAA. We're planning on going in Sept and again in Jan. I tried to link the vouchers to my Disney experience in the hope of receiving the annual passholder discount info via email, as mentioned on the Disney website. It says the voucher number isn't recognized as a valid ticket number.
Is there any way to get any info or to use the hotel discounts before converting the voucher into an annual pass? How do people use the hotel discounts on their first trip of the year otherwise?

Thanks!

We book with an AP that is not in our possession frequently. I buy tickets to upgrade when we are there. All that is required is you take the AP to the checkin desk when you have it and show it to the CMs.

I booked my first AP discount with a voucher using a Disney Authorized Travel Agent. You will have to convert the voucher to an AP though before check in (because that's a requirement for the rate), but that can easily be done at Guest Services at a park or Downtown Disney.

I would call Disney to make the reservation or go through a TA. In my opinion, the website is very limited in the types of bookings it can do.

Glad to hear you have been able to do it! Bummer that I'll actually have to speak to a human being instead of hiding behind my keyboard. :lmao:
