AP voucher question and Christmas party ticket purchase

Hey everyone. I have a 5 day hopper that I am planning to convert to an annual pass. If I go ahead and call Disney and pay to have my ticket upgraded to an AP, it is my understanding that I will be able to use that for my FP+ booking even though I won't have an activated AP yet. My other question is the purchase of my Christmas party tickets. Will the voucher be recognized in MDE and give me a discount on my Christmas party ticket purchase? TIA!

Apparently I should have been more specific. I have an unused ticket I purchased through Undercover Tourist. When I called Disney to do the upgrade, they told me I could only do it at a ticket window because it wasn't purchased through them. At first she told me I could do it through the app but then she told me I couldn't do it because it wasn't purchased through them. Is this true? I know sometimes it depends on the CM, so I wanted to verify.

It is likely that you cannot upgrade a "discounter's ticket" before you arrive,
but there can be exceptions.
It never hurts to "ask nicely" for whatever you'd like.

As to getting the "discount" for party tickets...
it has been reported in several cases that if the party tickets (etc.) where purchased at full price,
then an AP was added for the purchaser, a "refund" (likely a Disney gift card) was issued after the new AP was
shown at Guest Relations.

That's better than nothing and definitely good to know. I will just get my party tickets and go to guest relations after I have my AP in hand. Thanks @Robo!
