AP used 1 day + COVID Risk at WDW

We renewed our AP last March and got 1 day of use from them, then COVID hit. Had we known, we would have used a 1 day ticket and saved the AP. We had purchased AP Vouchers through Sam's Club in 2019.

What are the chances that I contact WDW Customer Service, and they renew my AP, I let them reduce a non expiring ticket by one day, and I have an unused AP to use?

Part of the reason is that my DW has no desire whatsoever to go to WDW till we are vaccinated and the risk is much less. I told her we would have paid $1,800 for one day at WDW. We will be in FL from Jan. 15 till April 1, then not again till 2022 or 2023.

Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

Have there been any reports of CMs contracting COVID??? Guests?

For those of you that have visited in the past month, how safe did you feel???

The only thing to do is contact Disney about your ticket situation. No one here can tell you what they will or won't do
As for reports of guests and cm getting covid, yea of course there have been people getting covid, otra inevitable in a theme park setting
As far as how safe that's a personal decision ands you can find plenty of reports in the just back thread.
I visit the parks twice a week, my DD works at DHS and I work at Sea World. We obviously wear masks, wash our hands constantly and try to social distance when possible and haven't gotten covid.

As far as the risk, We just got back today and I can tell you we all go felt very safe the entire time. However, that is such a personal feeling! Mask wearing was good and that went pretty far to helping us feel comfortable. Could we social distance all.the time, no but for the most part we never felt overcrowded with people.

my guess is they might just be willing to refund portion of AP like they did previously, but I think that would be generous on their end since they already made that offer and you didn’t take advantage of it then.

As for feeling safe, it’s going to be different for everyone. If you aren’t leaving your house for anything then going to disney is going to seem like a huge risk. If you are like me and live your life as normally as possible and still go places (and have already had covid) the parks are going to feel completely safe.

I'm guessing you missed the communications and discussions back in the summer and fall when WDW offered to refund APs? The default was an extension, so your APs are likely now valid through maybe June?

The best you can do is call to ask. They might give you the refund that was offered. I doubt if they will mess around with taking 1 day from another ticket but maybe.

Wait, Disney made an offer to refund my AP ???? But I used it for 1 day.....I knew they made some offer, but as I had used my AP, didn't think it applied.

I will call them tomorrow and plead my case.

They did an adjustment for people who had used days figuring in the number of days that were used. People who used more days got less money back. You likely wouldn't have gotten a full refund, but it probably would have been a good amount since you only used one day.

Original Purchase2019 /Sam’s Club : price $1800...used 1 day
Planning to visit Jan 15 but might cancel until you are vaccinated
When you all tomorrow , you will probably be on hold and told to call different phone number and possibly be disconnected.... But you might get lucky .
If not and you still visit Jan 15 I would go to MK or Disney Springs Guest Services for a second opinion. I truly believe you should have a fair response from Disney.
Good luck.
I will try to search for a better phone number that is more direct .I know it was given to me recently with a problem I was having.
