AP Upgrade

If you're upgrading from any day pass or multi day ticket to an AP, you just take your ticket to a ticket booth and tell them you want to upgrade to an AP. The AP must be of a higher (or at least the same) value than the ticket you currently hold. You pay the price difference and then get the AP voucher, which you'll exchange for the actual AP inside the park.

Or, you can just take your ticket (hopper) to the ap processing center and pay the difference there and get your ap at the same time.

A few FYI's: make sure you upgrade after any black out dates in your trip, and after you've used your early entry. YOu can upgrade on a black out day and still get in that day. I recomend you keep your receipt with you. They will back date your a/p to the first day you used your park hopper, and sometimes they'll question it at the gate, since it looks like you bought your pass days earlier rather then on the black out day.

Do the southern california citypasses have any value for upgrading to APs?

They do, but I dont know exactly how much it is. You would want to ask at the ticket booth or a/p center and see what they say. Its usually in the bar code on the back. I would guess slightly less then a normal hopper.
