I have a Non-Florida resident annual pass (AP) that will expire in March. We have two trips planned before then (October and December) where I was planning on purchasing Memory Maker. I understand that my current AP doesn't include the new Photopass benefit. I plan on upgrading my pass at MK when I arrive in October.
I've heard two conflicting things about paying for upgrade.
1. From Disney AP phone line - I would pay the difference between what I originally paid and the new price of the AP. I asked about a pro-rated amount for the remaining months on my AP. The cast member didn't know and said that I could find out at the ticket office at the parks. Asked about a fixed fee for all upgrades - she didn't know about it.
2. From DISBoards: I've seen a couple of different posts where AP holders were either told by Disney or experienced the upgrade at a park that there is a fixed price for the upgrade for the rest of the original AP time period. I've seen two figures - $75 or $50.
I'm planning on doing this because no mater what happens, it most likely will be less expensive than paying for two different Memory Makers (one per trip).
Is either of these scenarios correct? If #2, what is the expected fixed fee?
