I am planning on taking my DW and two DDs to the World next summer. I'm planning on staying at ASMo for 10 nights. At first I was going to get 5 day hoppers. Then, I moved to 6 day hopper pluses. Now I'm trying to decide if getting the ultimate would be worth it. As I look at the numbers, it looks as though annual passes may be close to what I would be paying for the ultimate tickets.

What kind of resort rate can I expect with an annual pass? I'm a member of the DC so I can already get some break.

Annual pass discounts are usually in the 40-45% range. I have one for BWI for December, rate went from $289 to $169. You don't need to have the AP to make the reservation, just to check-in, so you can wait to decide which pass to buy.

Check Mousesavers for the AP rates for last yearat the time frame you plan to go next year to get an idea of what you might be able to save. Remember you don't have to have the AP to book the room only at check in so you could see if the discounts come out for the time period before you buy. Also wait until check-in if you go with the ultimate park hopper because you can leave off the first and/or last day.http://www.mousesavers.com/

The AP rates for rooms are MUCH better than the DC rates. They don't always have AP rates, though. I'm not sure if there were any for 7?4 for instance and they don't have them for 12/26 to 12/31 currently. We did have one for late June.

The break even point for APs is usually listed as 8 days so even without a room discount it's the better buy for you. You also get 5% off with your DC discount. If AP rates do come out it'll be gravy. :D

Yes, there were AP rates last summer, (even for 7/4 timeframe), but there was actually a code out that turned out to be cheaper. The AP discounts for last summer were about 30% off, less than in the past.

You never know when the AP discounts will be available, or if you will be able to get one, or what the exact discount will be. That is all up to Disney!

What we usually do; I purchase one AP for me, and renew it each year. You only need one AP pass to get the discount on the room. If you plan on staying 8 or more days, it makes sense anyway. :):D:)
