AP Rooms

We really want to stay at the one of the EPCOT resorts with BC as #1, BW #2 and YC #3. Now...I have called disney and they don't have any AP rooms so we so far are "stuck" at the Poly ( I have been there twice before and just really want to try something new)

The question I have: Is it true that the closer you get to the date, the more rooms that will become "AP room" because they want to fill the resort?

I don't know...I am going to keep trying, but I guess I am just looking for a reason to believe I will get the resort I want.

Next question....If I were to use my AAA discount instead of purchasing an AP would it end up being the same amount....I am just wondering if the discount is really that much larger for the AP. I guess I will have to call them and see....

I'm not sure if more dates open as you get closer to your check-in date. All you can do is to keep calling and checking. AAA rate is less than rack rate but the discount isn't as big as an AP rate. But sometimes you can't get an AP rate for the dates you want. I always book with my AAA (room only) and keep checking to see if an AP rate becomes available. If so then I switch my ressies. This hasn't happened in the last two years--I've always kept my AAA ressies because no AP rates were available. We've never stayed at the Poly but love the Epcot resorts--you can walk to MGM and Epcot--that is wonderful!

Yeah...I think we are just going to have to accept that we will have to stay at the Poly. Not like that is a bad thing, I love the Poly....like I have said, I just kinda wanted to try something new and it being so close to EPCOT and MGM makes BW, BC and YC that much more exciting. I guess I will just have to suffer lying on a hammock and watch wishes from the beach. OH NO. Really it is all fine. I love the Poly....

I would call often (maybe every day) I have noticed things change all of the time and I usually end up with the resort/room/discount that I want. You just have to have the patience and keep trying. Also, try calling at 7 a.m. EST or late in the evening. Just don't give up and you might get it! Good Luck!!

I wanted an AP rate for CSR, but it was not available last month. I just kept trying and about 1 or 2 weeks out, it came available and I saved money! The only types rooms that don't seem to come available are conceirge rooms, especially the Polynesian. But keep calling!
