Hi all we are considering getting APs since we will be making a trip Dec 2010 and then April 2011 (we would buy the APs when we are there in Dec 2010) Just wondering what the AP hotel rates are like.... or if I should hope for a BB offer when we are there in Dec....Thanks!

As a general rule if you are planning more than 2 5+ day trips within a year it is worth it to get the AP. Sounds like you are planning to go twice so even w/out any room discounts you will save some on admission. But the AP rates vary from month to month, right now they are out for Jan-Feb 11th and it is up to 45% off deluxe/villas, 30% off value and moderate.

Bounceback offers are out there right now but you would have to book 'packages' for bounceback offers and that means buying tickets twice which will equal or exceed the price of an AP in most cases.

oh ok that makes sense, I didnt realize you had to book a package deal with a bounceback......I guess it makes sense to get the AP passes at least just to save on admission and then hope for a good AP rate! :thumbsup2

The BB is not a package deal. I did it several times this year and booked room only. Generally the AP discount is better (Jan deal is 40% off value and moderates and 45% off delux and villas). The bb deal is 30/35/40/45-villas). Of course the bb deal gives you a longer timeframe, so you should book the bb and when the AP rate comes out and is better, just try to change it or upgrade. (Note when the bb is free dining it is a package.)

I just returned from WDW yesterday. We have AP's and I booked a Bounceback room only for February. You don't have to book a package. :goodvibes

I would book the bounce back if avail, then watch for the AP rates and if it's better book them. We've done that. If there isn't a BB in your room, be sure to ask if one is available. They must be booked before you check out.

I thinking the same thing ... go in March 2010 (I have a PIN) ... get an AP for the 14 days there. Do a bounce back in Feb 2011 (2 weeks). All I need is an AP discount that is better than my 20% value PIN for March 2010.

SOmetimes the bounceback is for free dining (usually offered during free dining) sometimes, a room only discount. If you have an AP and book the free dining bounceback, you do have to purchase at least a 1 day pass. You can keep it and use it in the future towards an AP renewal or other ticket purchase. We have done this and when we go in Feb (AP expired in May) we will use some of those one day passes to get a new AP! AP rate hisory is on the mousesavers.com website just to let you know. We have been lucky to get them and sometimes the free dining is better (with a Value and purchasing the 1 day each) than the AP discount as well. We had the Value for 54/night with ap discount. With Free dining the rate was 28/night more but we would spend much more than that on food for 3 people! Plus have the one day passes for now!
