AP room discount vs activating AP

I want to plan a trip for August, and I saw AP discounts came out last year in April for August. I think I’ve gathered I can but, if I buy an AP by April, can I book a room with the discount even though I don’t plan on activating until August?

Also I would not activate my pass until the next day after I arrived (figure day 1 is a travel day). Will I have trouble checking in and getting the discount if it is not activated? Will I be able to just do online check in?


Sorry, I’m sure this gets asked often, but I need clarity on checking in/activating Day 2.

Yes you can book a discounted room with the voucher

I have done the activate on Day 2 several times; however, one time they did ask us to come back to the front desk once the pass had been activated (this was several years ago though and pre-dates Magic Bands).

Now we usually activate the same day so someone else might have more up to date information
