AP Room Discount Questions

DH is making a 3-day trek to WDW for the inline marathon and we are considering a 7 day summer trip as well. With two trips, it made me wonder if getting him an AP would be worth it overall for the discounts. With the new AP discount system, should I expect some hassle with getting the discount on certain dates? DH is going 4/1-4/3 and we are looking to go for 7 days late June-early July. My parents and brothers would like to go to so we would ideally reserve three rooms. I've read up on Mousesavers, but would like some advise from those of you who have had personal experience! Thanks!

We are fans of the AP for our 10-day stay. It works for us because: 1. we like to park hop 2. we use it to get other discounts besides hotel (you can save on meals and shopping at DTD) 3. it allows us to get the DDE card at $50 (saves a straight 20% on meals). The only date that may give you trouble is July 4th...we usually depart on July 3 and are able to use our AP for the days preceeding that with no problem. Only one in your travel party need buy it.

At certain times of the year, you can get Cirque du Soleil tickets for $56 for adults, $42 for children; The Disney Dining Experience card (which you can purchase for $50 if you have an AP) will take 20% off your meal for up to six persons with you; 10% off merchandise at World of Disney store in Downtown Disney, and 10% to 15% off at various other places around the World. At times, there are also previews of the new rides for AP holders.

For $50 you can buy a Disney Dinning Card which gives you a 20% discount on table food all over the world INCLUDING drinks.

On 2 6 day trips we ate $100 of food a day, = $20 x 12 = $240 - $50

The disney dinni g card has netted me a $190 savings in 12 months.
