I'm at work (SHHHH! don't tell anyone) and would like the following info:

1. How much is an AP renewal with DVC discount??

2. If the AP expires before you arrive at WDW but you would be there within a weeks time could you still get a renewal?? For example, the AP expires 10-13 and I won't arrive until 10-19, can we still get a renewal?

Thanks, you all are the best with quick replys and useful info!!

BTW, made ressies at HH this morning. It will be our first time there!! Going Oct. 16 - Oct. 19 and then on to WDW.

The discount is $75 off the gate price for the adult pass and $64 off the child's (ages 3-9). So the adult renewal (with DVC discount & tax) will be $298.20 and the child's (also including the DVC discount and tax) will be $253.47

Yes. Assume you already know that the start of the "new" pass year would be 10-13-05, not the day you renew.

Have fun!

Also with a renewal, there is a grace period for renewing (30 0r 31 days...can't remember which) but you don't actually need to start using it within that time frame. But as Carol said, your anniversary date will stay the same.

For instance, with your dates if you renewed by phone by 11/12 or 13...sorry I should know which....but don't actually go until Thanksgiving, it would be fine. But your anniversary date would still be 10/13.

Of course, at some point it is better to just get a new AP then worry about the renewal.

Especially since the total difference in price between a DVC-discounted AP renewal and a DVC-discounted new AP is only $15 - $16.

Best wishes -

LOL....I know. I wonder how many days until it is a wash? Someone posted that is a very short time frame for the break even point for non-discounted APs. Something like 21 days. If that is accurate, it's probably about a week with the DVC APs.

I hope you don't mean to pay your money for the AP on 10-19. They won't actually take your money after your renewal date of 10-13. You actually have to have charged the renewal by the 13th, and your clock begins ticking whether you actually go to the park or not. If you waited to buy your AP until the 19th, though, it's no longer a renewal, they charge the price of a new AP.

Cruelladeville: Thanks for the info. That is what I was going to do!!

So, now, do I order a voucher for a renewal before the other expires? Or do I just get new ones???

Is there a "grace period"?? I guess I'll get something from Disney before it expires.

lsutiggeratwk is now home! :wave2:

This is inaccurate. There is a grace period of 30 or 31 days. I tried to look it up on the WDW Passholder site but it is soooo slow right now. For instance, my anniversary date is 10/10. I bought and renewed my renewal AP on 10/17.

DS1' AP expired in Jan.. At first we didn't think we would renew it but it turned out he was able to join us for our Feb. trip. I called member services after it had expired but within the grace period and renewed it with the DVC discount.

lsutigger2, you are well within the grace period and will be able to pay for your renewal on the 19th.

Thanks BCV23! Call me silly, but I would rather just wait until we get to WDW before I renew them.
I'll try to find the info on the site also.
