So I am thinking of renewing my AP and I was not sure that I got a discount. But it looks like you do. Now my question is when do I renew? And will I get a new pass? My current AP expires right smack in the middle of our trip this year.

If you're THERE, you can renew it there at Guest Relations at the parks, or Downtown Disney.

Yes, if you renew within about a month of the expiration date, you get a discount on the new AP.

But the renewal will automatically "start ticking" (be activated) on the day after the old one expired.

For YOU, since you'll BE THERE using the tix, that will be perfect.

For others who may want to take a few months between the time of their last trip on an AP before it expired until the NEXT time they go, it might make sense to forego the renewal discount... and just buy and activate a new AP at the start of their next trip.
(It would be "good" longer that way.)

It cannot be done at the resorts. You must do it at a theme park ticket booth or a Guest Relations location.
