AP renewal ticket question

So please help me figure this out. We have a "free dining" package, that we booked in july. We have 3 day park hoppers associated with this package. We also have annual passes that will expire tomorrow. We just went to guest services to use the 3 day PH tickets to upgrade towards our AP renewal and they will only give us $279.25 for each ticket. If I look online a 3 day PH is $367.43. They are claiming that since we have a package our tickets are worth less and we got them at a discount but this isn't true. If I look on mousesavers at our room rate and subtract that from our package total it comes out that we paid $367.43 per ticket. I've talked with a manager, called guest services more than once and they are all holding firm on the fact that, that's all that we paid but no one can tell me a breakdown. Any ideas of what is going on? Did I just lose $100 per ticket on the upgrade? Hopefully that all made sense. Thank you!

Tickets bought as part of a package are always considered discounted, so that much is true.

Discounted tickets can be bridged, though. Go to a different guest services location (at a park) and try again.

Where were at when you were trying to upgrade?

Hollywood studios. I even had a manager. So was my free dining NOT free? If they're discounting my tickets, that means that I did indeed pay for dining somehow, even if it wasn't full price either???? They would upgrade/bridge but would only give me a price that was a $100 less than what a 3 day hopper costs

Tickets that are part of a package are always considered to be discounted, whether the package as a whole is discounted or not.

This is all correct.

1. True.
2. True.
3. For SURE!
And, it doesn't matter one whit that you talked with a "manager."
An uninformed, ill-trained CM, "manager" or not, gave you bad advice and poor service.
Go elsewhere.

The only issue is what they are going to give me for the tickets. They would bridge them to a renewal but would only give me $279.25. So is that indeed what I should be getting towards my AP renewal?? Or the actual ticket price of 367.43?

If a three day ticket costs currently costs $367.43, that's what they should credit you towards your renewal.

The CURRENT NEW gate price of the ticket that you are using for the transaction.
That's what "price bridging" (what we are discussing) is all about.

It is VERY likely that the ticket CM(s) you encountered do not know the difference between
tickets purchased from Disney at the gates and tickets purchased from Disney as part of a WDW resort package.
Those tickets are NOT treated equally in an upgrade/AP renewal situation.

"Free" dining is never really exactly free. What you are getting is a discount that is equivalent to what the dining plan would cost you. For accounting purposes, the discount is taken proportionally from all parts of the package (tickets, dining, and room.) But the price is the same, so it's really not important from a consumer perspective.

OK, Nicholas from Ellicott city, MD saved the day at MK guest services!!! He went above and beyond to correct everything. He had no idea what HS people did and THANK YOU, THANK YOU, to everyone that replied to let me know that I wasn't going insane.

I love a happy ending!
