So from what I understand, when renewing your AP you’re able to make monthly payments on it. If I opt for monthly payments upon renewal am I only allowed to pay that amount each month or am I able to pay maybe 2-3 months’ worth of payments at a time? My AP is up for renewal in July and I’m just trying to get a good game plan, thanks in advance!

You can only make payments on an AP if you live in CA. The payments come out automatically, but I would guess you could probably call and pay more on it per month if that's what you're wanting to do.

No. They will take that amount you pay as a down payment, deduct from balance, divide the remaining amount by 12 to make it 12 monthly payments and then charge the first installment fairly quickly

You can pay it off early as well. You just have to call or go to the kiosk. Paying towards the balance doesn’t decrease the payments, it just ends them earlier.
I didn't know you could call; thank you for that information. I was told when I purchased my daughter's AP (she's attending college nearby) that I would have to go to a kiosk to pay it off early.

When I renewed a CM at the window said in person or on the phone. I’ve only ever done it in person. But we all know how CM info can be with pass renewals.

If you renew with the monthly payment they take the price of the pass and divide it up into 12 payments. There is no downpayment for renewals. Your payments start the moment you complete the renewal transaction. So if you currently have a pass on the payment plan, you will be making 2 monthly payments until your current AP expires and your renewal starts.

Yes you can pay for months in advance, however, those payments will be deducted off the backend of your pass. Making advance payments can be done in-person or on the phone.
