AP Renewal HELP Please!!!

Morning,
OK we've all heard the rumor of the price increase coming. My AP's expire on 3/13. I just went thru the passholder site to renew and it says I have to pay the monthly payment today (no initial down payment just the monthly payment). And my contract day will be 2/27. I've never renewed my passes so I'm not understanding I still have 3 weeks left on these passes. Can someone help and explain this to me? Thanks so very much!!!

That doesn't sound right if you still have 3 weeks left. Should be a year from date of expiration. Right?

I had this happen last year when I renewed. I was told that the only way to avoid it was to renew at the Parks guest services. Not sure if this is still true. Didn't make sense then.....doesn't make sense now.

That's why I'm confused. I just thought I signed another contract but everything stayed the same? Do I keep my bands or do you have to go thru the ticket window thing again and get new ones?

You'll get new bands with each renewal.

We received new bands, but all of our old bands will still linked and still worked.

The only difference between an old band and new is that the battery will eventually die and attraction pictures won't automatically show up if the battery is dead. Tapstiles still work with a dead battery.

How soon will the battery die? Will my 13 month old band that was used for one week work? I don't want to miss any photos.

I've seen reports of one to two years. I don't think there's a specific time frame. My son still wears his Olaf band from 2 summers ago and not sure if it's still working or not. Dh and I are wearing newer bands.
