I currently have an AP that will expire at the end of the day March 13. I plan to go online and renew it after Christmas.

I have an onsite trip planned arriving March 11, departing March 13. I know I am good with a FP+ 60 day window through the 13. However, we are moving offsite March 14-21 and I plan to make 30 day window FP+ reservations for that time.

My question is: when I renew online, will my AP automatically just renew and I will be able to make 30 day FP+ or do I have to wait until I'm at the park and actually activate it? This is my first AP and I have never renwed before, so I'm not sure how the process works.

If someone could walk me through the FP+/AP renewal process who's been there that would be great, thanks!

I worried about something similar. My DH wanted to upgrade to an annual pass when we arrived. I was scared it would erase his fp+ reservations. She assured us it wouldn't and it didn't.

We upgraded at guest services at Magic kingdom.

You can make FP+ reservations with a purchased -but unactivated- AP or AP renewal.

They will remain unchanged after you activate the AP or renewal.

Yes, we've renewed our APs online and been able to make FP+ reservations immediately after.
