My recent experience with this was strange as well. I ordered them online WAAAYYY back in early January to get my DDE card rolling (before they said that you couldn't get a DDE card with just a voucher number as I think they are now saying) and I never got anything other than the receipt I printed out when I bought them. I even called Disney ticketing to make sure I was not waiting on a voucher before our trip last weekend to da World. Nope, just take my receipt, no problems. (They basically have been going back and forth on vouchers being sent out or not being sent out. I think WDW is having lots of growing pains from the new ticketing and dining plans.)
On our first day there, we stopped by DTD (usually the least busy GS I have found) and gave her my printed receipt and the very nice CM popped the info in the computer and said, "You don't have your passes yet?" I said nope - I was told to come to GS to get them. She said they were mail to our house on January 4th. Mailed to our house? Yep. Ummmm WHAT was mailed to our house? Your passes? How would they know the names? oh - wait - we are DVCers, so maybe they did some cross checking and got our names that way. No wait - we have not been "home" yet, so how would they know?
It was weird to me. The CM reprinted the tickets no problem (they had not been activited - which would have been a nightmare), but I am still baffled by that whole mailed to my house thing.
Also, for future note for travelers down 75 south. You CANNOT stop at the ticketing center in Ocala and get your APs there. I was hoping, but they can't assist DVCers even though all they have to do is have your
DVC card and ID. Just one of those rules that don't really make sense to me.
