AP renewal and unused tickets

My daughter is going to a competition at WWoS in a few months.

If I buy a package directly from Disney Group Reservation Office, it will include a minimum 2 day MYW for all of us. Can I save the tickets and apply them to the cost of renewing our APs?

I'm assuming the tickets are steeply discounted. The ticket sticky says, "If this is a ticket which was sold by Disney for less than the current gate price, Disney will only allow you credit for the amount they sold the ticket for. If it was bought directly from WDW before a price increase it is only worth what you paid for it. " so I think I'll get at least something toward the renewal? Or is it possible to use them once to lock into to the current prices?

I know that CF hasn't posted in a while (hope he's ok), so I just want to see if anyone knows if this is still the case.

Special tickets, which are often deeply discounted, are described near the end of post #5 in CF's ticket sticky. Farther down in post 15-E he says the special tickets cannot be modified or upgraded which would make bridging a moot point. I don't know if using the ticket for an AP renewal would be considered a modification/upgrade or not, but hopefully someone will know. If it can be used, in 15-D he explains the value you'll receive depends on who sold the tickets.

I also miss CF. On another thread last week someone posted that he has moved to Texas.

There is a good chance you will NOT be able to apply it to a new ticket.

When DS20 went on his senior trip he already had an AP. I was hoping to be able to apply the amount paid for the group ticket to his renewal but it was a no go.

It really depends on the type of ticket included in your group package & I don't think you will know that until the ticket is in your hand.
