Booked room using AP code. We are arriving late at night so will not have time to go to park and get AP we only have the vouchers for the AP. Will hotel be ok with this? If not anyway to get passes ahead of time. Thank you for any help!!!!

I am new to the boards but ready to book four rooms, probably at an all star for Jan 2. What is the AP code discount you are referring to? Thanks...waiting to save and find out!!:)

cbutterfield,
we have never even been asked to show our AP at the hotel or give a number over the phone. to get the rate, but I am sure the voucher will be fine.

angeline,
Tell the operator you want the annual pass rate, & (if available) you will get it. If it is not available, keep calling back, they often become available later.

angelineb1 -
The ap rate is the discounted rate SOMETIMES available to annual passholders. At least one person in the party must have an annual pass to qualify for the discount. Sometimes people are asked to show it, but I think it is more common that they are not since the computer will have record of your annual pass stored under your name which is pulled up at the time of check-in.

We used our AP vouchers when checking in August at WL. We did show the voucher, it has your name on it. We were given the discount and had no problem at all. We went later that day to the MK to get our actual passess.

I have booked using AP discount several times and I was asked to show pass/voucher at check in order to get the discount. Hope this helps. :)

Thank you for your help. I'm not so worried now.
angelineb1 I book my trips at least a year in advanced. Once the AP rates come out I modify my reservation and Disney is always happy to give me the lower rate. To have best selection you should check mousesavers.com regulaly. I check it every day. When AP rates come out some hotels get booked real quick.
Thanks again for all your help.

I wonder if that type of information actually pops up for the CM to see when you check in. When we stayed at the WL last Christmas, the CM didn't ask us to show our AP's or vouchers, which was a good thing since I didn't have either at check- in!

She seemed to be totally unaware of the type of tickets we had or that we had an AP rate since she asked us if we needed or wanted to purchase our park passes while we were checking in.

Peachgirl - Same with us.

We had our rooms reserved with the ap rate. I had the voucher with me but was not asked to present it. And the CM did try to get me to buy my park hoppers. I already had those too.

I'll "third" it that vouchers are perfectly acceptable to show when ask at check-in. We've used APs on two visits, once we were asked, the second time we were not. I don't believe the CM's have any clue about any active APs that you may be holding. For one thing, you buy and activate them independantly of the resorts. There's no way to tie them back to you.

We just got back from a split stay 8days at CBR, 4 Days at WL
, Both booked through CRO with AP discounts, All I had was my AP Voucher
at CBR, And although I handed my confirmation from CRO both times at check in ( wich indicated show AP at check in ) No one ever asked to see my pass or voucher,
PS before vacation I called CRO they distinctly said a voucher is all that is needed at check in.

Ps if you bought an ap voucher at the Disney store the reciept (not the voucher) gives you a 1-800 to CRO for all questions, One of the AP perks

Good Luck
Jack

I agree that it does seem strange about the CMs asking about ticket purchases when you have APs. I could very well be wrong, but was basing the idea of AP computer information on my family's experiences as well as that of some other folks posting. For example, the first time I was making a reservation using an AP rate I was going to pick up the AP once we arrived -- the CM at CRO who was making the reservation made some statement about my not having an AP in my name (I had not told her I hadn't picked it up yet). On another trip when checking in myself and 2 kids, the CM said something like "You won't need any tickets since you all three have annual passes." (Again, I had not said anything about it to that person.) Also, on another trip when my husband (at that time not an AP holder) was checking in on AP rate with our 5 year-old daughter (ap holder), the CM specifically asked to see her card. (Now on that trip I had called about 3 different times in the planning stage to make sure that her AP was okay for the room discount. I had read so many conflicting posts regarding the issue that I felt the need to check and double check, so maybe someone had made a note on the reservation.) I don't really know, but it seems unlikely that Disney would offer discounts as much as 40-45% and be "so careless" about the verification of whether it was legitimate (spelling?) unless they had some way of cross-checking.

Is it possible that they have activated APs in the system, but not unactivated vouchers? I bought two PAPs online in April (right before the big FTP stampede) and I'd bet that they don't show up in the system.

You would think so, but I hear that they even let guests refill mugs from other resorts and past stays!;)

Dr Tomorrow -
Just a side note - Since our last name is "Morrow" our kids (ages 5 and 9) got a kick out of hearing the page for "Tom Morrow" on the Transit Authority last week . (On our first trip last spring when someone asked me if I knew Tom Morrow I didn't have a clue. )

If you ask to modify a reservation after AP rates come out, is it possible that CRO has already used up the alloted rooms reserved for that discount? I guess I'm asking, is the trick to check mousesavers for codes everyday so that if you want to modify your reservation there are still rooms available? What has everyone's experience been? Also, do you need to have an AP in hand when making the reservation, or can you purchase one on the way to check-in to get the rate?

jeankeri, Yes when AP rates come out they have a set number of rooms for different resorts. You can modify to a different resort but once the rooms are full at the AP rates you can't get them. That is why checking mousesavers.com offen can help. Mousesavers just is an information site but usally is the first to post the new rates. AP rates only come out 2 or 3 months before dates. We have been booked at allstar resort and when the AP rates came out we modified res to cont. tower room for just a little more money.
