Okay, just venting.. maybe I am missing something here. .but I have been waiting patiently for AP rates for the Fall. What's going on? Do you think they are going to offer new AP rates or is this new $400 off thing their only promotion for the Fall. maybe I am missing something......urghhhh:

I don't know, but it's bumming me out. I thought for sure that August would bring some decent October rates, but nope. Maybe September...

I am with you, Jazzatola! Bumbershoot and I have discussed this before! We thought the AP rates would be showing up sooner than this, but so far, nothing. And $221 is STILL too much to pay for the PPH, in my opinion!!;) There is also a PIN code offer with some great rates floating around, but as with all PIN offers from Disney, only random folks get them. I have gotten several PIN code offers so far this year, but NOT this one that extends from August all the way into December. Now that is not to say that I won't eventually get a PIN code offer for Fall/Winter, but it has not come yet! So, meanwhile, the nifty AP rates that the AP holders have come to expect are not coming yet! I knew it was ominous when I asked a CM several weeks ago and she said that they had NO word in Reservations of any AP rates for October on the horizon at that point, whereas normally they would have. On the AP hotel calendar, all of October is available, practically. That's because no one who is an AP holder who is used to lower rates wants to pay those outrageous fees!

So I think DLR is taking its sweet time in releasing good AP rates because they want to see if anyone will book the rooms for October at the regular rack rates. Meanwhile, the people with the PIN code offer are benefiting but the people with the APs are not!

OK I am sorry for my ignorance, but what is the PIN code offer? Who usually gets access to it? I have been using my DVC points to stay at GCH, so I am out of the loop.

I'm waiting too.....for the AP rates or for the PIN that I didn't get either. :(

funatdisney PIN code offers are special offers for the hotels that are sent to certain people, not all of us get them, they can only be used by the person on the invite.

Glad you started this thread, cuz I was just about to do it myself.

Everyday I check ,and nada, zip, nothing!!! :headache:

So I'm like Scarlett, "Tomorrow is another day."

They still don't have December rates on the AP charts, so maybe once they do that, we will see some great prices.

Let's hope it is soon. :hyper:

Thanks pixiewings71. So it is like what Las Vegas does for frequent guests at some of the Hotels? I wonder how one gets a PIN code?

The exact same thing happened this past summer with the cruise line (DCL) and the Castaway Cay (repeat cruise) members. Subsets of the CC members were being sent PIN codes for very steep discounts on DCL, while others were not. Then a subset of the general public were being sent these offers, which really ticked off the CC members.

bought an AP this year in hopes of being able to use it for our last big trip this Oct -- and maybe even stay on site! ..alas, nothing yet and Oct is coming soon.

Oh, no kidding!! I check every day. As of now, I'm booked at Hojos for one night, but I was really hoping for some better rates to come along at DLR. We're going to the ToT for the first time and it would be very cool not to have to leave the resort to get to our room. I don't relish the idea of walking down Harbor in my costume, though I doubt it would garner much notice :lmao:

I've even knocked around the idea of staying one night at the Anaheim Marriott. They have a deal where you pay $199 for your room and you get a $100 Disney gift card. I have enough mypoints to convert to a $100 Marriott card. I could also use the Marriott card to stay free at FFI so that's probably a smarter move since it's closer, but part of me likes the idea of a gift card in hand that could--ahem--possibly be used toward another night at a DLR hotel, especially if the rates drop. Plus, I'm going with my adult dd and I have a friend who *thinks* she wants to come with us, so I'd be sharing the cost but I get the card ;)

Have I mentioned how much my dh HATES the way I logic things out? :rotfl:

Expedia still has great rates right now. PPH around $100.00, DH around $150.00 GCH around $250.00

Those are great rates, but don't you have to stay a minimum of 4 nights? I can't do that for this trip, unfortunately. I could swing 2 nights, but I'm trying to do this on the cheap as it's only to activate my new Costco pass before the Oct 31 deadline. Is that offer good through the end of Nov?

I am right there with you guys...
I need a terrific AP rate for two nights only. I have my Oct trip locked in, but need a great rate for early Dec. How can I not see all the holiday decorations and take in all the wonderful ambiance at my beloved DLR??? I wonder what they have up their sleeve? Surely they don't have enough bookings to not offer some sort of AP special? Can you tell I am not patient?

What dates are you seeing those prices? Is it hotel only, through a package, what? Is there a link or do you just go to the HOtels section and search for the resorts?

Or is it just my dates?

Bumbershoot - Go into Expedia, and choose Hotels (no package). Unfortunately you need to book four nights to get the discount. We input dates last week (Dec 14-19) and it was $100 per night, DLH was $150 per night, GH was $250. However, it doesn't include CA tax, City tax and resort fee so it tends to add up, especially since we don't need four nights. I'd love to stay four nights, but hubby isn't gung ho so we're staying with our original booking. Try inputting your dates and see what what you get.

Can anyone give me info on Expedia - I have never used them but this is a great deal. Has anyone had any problems with them? Thanks!

I've used Expedia frequently and never had problems.

I often use them for my sci-fi convention bookings because they normally beat the convention rates, and I've always booked my one night stays at the airport through them.

The only thing that could be a concern if you're travelling with a family is that they don't guarantee the room preferences. Means even if you request a king bed you could end up with two queens, or the other way round.

Also you need to make full payment for the rooms upon booking, and sometimes there's cancellation charges involved.

So there's no link, it just shows up? OK, I'll try it with 4 days.

Nope, it's just the dates I'm looking at... Call me crazy, but 355 for either GCH or DLH, and 305 a night for PPH just isn't a bargain! Drat.
