So was anyone successfule getting the rate of $49.00? I'm going to call today as ask about it. I would love that rate for January 31-Feb 4!

I have the $49 a night rate, and yes I booked before the 60 day window. WDW sent me an email telling me they dropped my rate and credited my credit card the difference. Though no one could book the new rate by the time it was announced (and I agree, it was only recently announced under the 60 day mark), I think this was an advertisment to show everyone, that yes, sometimes you book at a higher rate and they WILL drop the rate if bookings are not meeting expectations. Hopefully this new year, there will be some new changes. At least most of us have the AP discount. Folks waiting for the general public codes are really getting hit hard, since they seem to disappear and folks can't believe nothing was released for January--which historically is a slow time for WDW (except marathon week).

to get an AP rate within the window. I have a business trip in Orlando so I thought I would stay at POP vs. offsite. Don't want to spend a lot of $$ so I'm definitely not interested in a deluxe - we save those for vacations. Anyway, I called and asked if I could get an AP rate and they said NOPE, only using BRP. Sucks. I HATE HATE HATE best rate.

Not too appy with BRP either. This year for the YC with BRP during same time frame I'm paying almost what I paid last year for the GF. :(
