AP RATES vs. BOOK THRU LOEW'S WEBSITE

Alright, now that I have all your input on our first-time ever Universal trip (thanks so much!!!) -- I'm trying to figure out if it is cheaper to buy 1 AP to get that rate or just book via the Loew's website - we're going at the end of August and they have a pkg ranging from $229/nt at the HRH (GARDEN VIEW) to $319 (club level -oooh la la - we were bumped to the concierge level at the Beach Club one X-mas and loved it)- but these prices include 2 passes (I would have to buy passes for the kiddies)...what do the experts out there think? I know the ins and outs of Disney and what's a good deal, but I'm a newbie to the Universal track.....Anyone know what the AP rates are for August? Thanks for your help!

You can check out the AP rates on the Loew's website by typing in 'APH' as the code.
At the end of August for standard view the rates are
$129 weekday; $159 Fri & Sat
for waterview
$149 weekday; $179 Fri & Sat

Can I ask how you are arriving at these rates.I may be going about it the wrong way but I go to www.loewshotels.com,hit orlando,hit HRH and punch in various dates from now till Sept. and I'm not coming up with anything close to some of the rates being posted.I'm also typing in AAA,APH,FANClub et.al .What am I doing wrong ???

The first thing I did was sign up for the Loews Membership (like a frequent flyer program) and then I put "APH" or "AAA" in the promo code -- thanks to tips from fellow disboarders!! - I had no problem finding the rates posted....

hardrocker45: My dates are aug 24-27 and everytime I checked the rates they were $179 aph. I couldn't figure it out either but this morning, I checked the rates day by day and for my dates, I came up with the $149 weekday and $179 weekend. I booked seperately and now I guess I will have to call them to combine the reservation?

I'm sorry. The rate I posted was for the RPH not the HRH.

hardrocker45, the rate depends on the dates you are using.

For the HRH, from Aug 25 - Sep 1, the APH rate says $179 with an * next to it, that means that the rate changes over the selected period of time. If you click on 'Select Rate' it will show you the rate change of $149 on M,Tues,Wed,Thurs, Sun and $179 on Fri, Sat.

You don't have to book separate ressies, you will get the correct rate for each day.

thank guys, I'll try that,I realized I haven't been using my Loews card either.Also ,I usually use Netscape tried MSExplorer and got different rates ,then switched back and they were there also.......maybe we rode the Mummy too many times last year
