AP Rates Question

Hello -
I'm brand new to this forum, I've been reading a bit. I recently booked our flights to DL - we will be going from April 23 - May 3. As it is right now, we are thinking of heading out to San Diego first from the 23-26th, then actually going to DL for the remainder 26th - 3rd.

We are going with another family and would all love to stay at the Grand Californian or the DL Hotel. Can I phone these places and ask for the AP rate, then just buy an AP? Is it worthwhile to do it this way? Can anyone buy the AP Pass?

Welcome! Anyone can buy an AP but only S. CA residents can buy the S.CA AP. The cheapest one you can get is Deluxe. I think I've heard you can get the rate at the hotel when you call, but must show your AP when you get there, or possilbly your proof of purchase of an AP. I would think you can ask about that when you call.

Someone else who has done that would know better and probably be along soon. I've never stayed onsite.

There are currently no special rates for AP's listed for those dates. There may be some announced soon but not yet.

And buying the Deluxe AP ensures you will have your Saturdays blacked out. Just something to consider before buying an AP just for the hotel rate discounts.

Yes, you can do this. I made reservations with the AP rate before I actually had my annual pass. I purchased my deluxe pass online and showed the eticket that I had printed out at home when I checked in.

Thanks so much for your help! I was also hoping that 1 out of the 4 adults could buy the AP, and book both rooms. I guess I will have to figure out what the rates will be and if it's worth it. I have a million more questions, but I'll try and get what I can reading first.
