AP Rates In Dec?

Are there traditionally AP discounts for around the time of Dec 22? I assume between Christmas & New Years there wouldnt be any, but what about a little before?

This year, AP rates for that period were offered from 10/3 through 12/19.

However, there was a code that became available in late October for the general public. That offer was available from 12/1 through 12/25. It offered 25% to 40% room discounts, right in-line with what you'd expect from an AP rate.

I guess it all depends on the Marketing dept and whether the travel industry rebounds in 2003. If they experience lower than expected occupancy, we may very well see these kinds of discounts next year. Before 2001, discounts during that time of year were rare.
