A heads up to let you all know that ap rates are out now for october for the hotels.

Stop tempting me!!!...Momma said either October or November or December...
The boy and I are already tentatively planning a July trip...crazy-I know. :furious:

Boo, I tried for all three hotels for my dates, and no APH rates available. Oh well. I will keep trying though.

thanks for the heads up Mac!

i put in for oct 2-15 and then ran it again for the middle to end of the month.
there were more standard rooms in the middle of the month to the end than for the columbus day weekend for rpr.

did not check the other deluxe or value hotels.

i booked with smsm months ago and rates were not bad at all.
i booked the king suite and the price was cheaper than last year with smsm for the same time period

the ap for my dates are not anything thrilling.
if i had waited to book now, i would be spending over $1000 more for the same room.

have not seen good ap rates for october the past few years for my time period

wanted to get this thread out to the readers as i had promised i would keep checking for the ap release that covered october
we all need a Heads Up thread to alert us when we are looking to book with a discount.

Hope many of you out there do get a deal that you have been waiting for!

hope to see some success from others that have snagged the AP hotel rates !

Thanks Mac........passed info along to friends who were waiting for this.........they're happy :thumbsup2

I booked months ago at RPR and I am glad I did the AP rates for my dates Oct 23rd - 27th is $595.00 it's only $247.20 with SMSM rate

It looks like Columbus Day weekend will be packed at rpr this year

Rest of the month rpr has standard rooms still open as of today

Since hrh is the smallest deluxe for # of rooms, and that one usually fills up first for holiday periods

Went to check after I made the thread and did see standard rooms available there

If I plan to upgrade my ticket to an Annual Pass I can book at the AP rate? If my mom does go with us we can get a great rate on a big room since we would be a party of 6.

I'm glad I book way out like you.

This years discounts plain stink!

I decided to book one night of my trip at an on-site hotel. RPR only had $500+ rooms available on my dates. Don't care for HRH so booked Portofino Bay for $199. Is this a decent rate or should I keep looking?

ETA: I would prefer RPR, my date is 9/15/2016

Thanks!

That's a great rate, but as always keep looking.

have you stayed @ PBH? our fav onsite. that is a great rate, take it and run!

as discussed, Columbus Day weekend must be heavily booked already at the deluxe resorts, especially @ RPH.

only SMSM for my 4 nights coming in 10/6 and cost is $200+ more than i booked months ago. In retrospect, I can live with the rate I have. All in (including taxes & less our $100 platinum credit) my average night rate is $235 for King Suite, received via complimentary youfirst upgrade.

Hate to point out that we long-haulers have been terribly spoiled getting such amazing deals. The parks are more popular than ever with the new attractions. The onsite properties don't need to discount the rooms as heavily as in the past.

It sweetens the pot to consider:

* an U AP is far less than what WDW charges
* FOTL free for onsite guests
* typically can book RPH for less than what WDW's moderates price out.

That said, I will not be happy if Cheaptickets does continue the practice of selling inventory at prices less than APH holders are offered. They do the same thing @ WDW but it seems to be more heavily discounted @ Universal.:rolleyes1

We've stayed at RP, HH and PB, I just prefer Royal Pacific. The Hard Rock was our go to back when the kids were still young. We've only stayed at Portofino once, way back in 2009. It probably didn't help that the weather was record breakingly stinky (Does anyone else remember the great monsoon of May '09?) but it just felt so empty! My last UO resort stay was at Royal Pacific but I didn't really do much. There was (again) record weather-freezing cold this time. It never got out of the 40s. Didn't really matter though because I (apparently along with the entire Grand Floridian room service staff, a friend was Chef there and we stopped by for nibbles) came down with a lovely case of Norovirus. Most of my quality time was divided between hugging the toilet in my hotel room, watching bad movies on Liferime and wishing I was at home. I'm hoping for better luck this time!

indeed, weather is such a factor in a nice trip. I was absolutely shocked I didn't have a drop of rain our trip beginning May 7th this year.:worship:
