AP Rates for DL Hotels - how far out?

I was just checking the AP rates for the first time for the DLH, and while it's still pricey, the rates at least get them in the ball park. How far out do they usually offer the rates? Are they rolled out 6 weeks in advance, releasing every week? Or is it one month at time? I'm booked at another hotel but I'd like to know if/when I might be able to get into a DLR hotel for a few nights at least.

C'mon, someone has to know something. Bumping this before it ends up on page 3.

Well, it has changed so it's hard to answer. Generally, you won't find the good AP rates until you're within 3 months of your trip. They used to have a 10% ap discount at any time, but I heard they were likely doing away with that, but I don't know if that's true, whether it has been done, or what. I usually go during the Christmas holidays and they've offered a pretty decent discount at that time for the past several years (20-25%), but it's impossible to predict. That discount usually comes out Sept-Oct now. It used to come out earlier but seems to get later every year. Dapper Day rates are the best at 50% and don't require an AP, but you have to be able to go in the 2 weeks around DD, which is held spring and fall. They've also changed those dates from Sept and Feb/early March so the best thing to do would be to check their website at dapperday.com and see what it is now. I think fall DD will be moving to Oct and the spring DD is going to be later also.

We did Dapper Days in late Feb and it was a lot of fun! Got the DLH at a great rate. But we can't do the same in the fall. That's why I'm asking about AP rates.

I was watching for the May AP rates to come out and it was in April sometime :( I'm hoping there are some good AP rates before Christmas though.

Man, that's awful. You would think that AP holders would rate a little better in the eyes of the shareholders. I guess not.

The prices at DL hotels have doubled in 10 years. I remember that we took a trip to DL, staying at DLH for 8 days, 7 days in the park for the 50th and the total cost was $3500. Now The room alone would be $4800, not including park tickets and food. Best guess it would be $8000 for that same trip. Ouch. Guess that is why we moved from the park hotels to the good neighbor hotels. I can do a whole lot more for a lot less money.

Yeah, it'll be hard for me to give up HoJo at a pretty good price to spend $50-75 more/night just to go to PPH. But still, it would be nice if we can find a good deal.
