AP Rates blocked out for summer?

Hi all,

I just got off the phone booking my reservation for summer. We are AP holders so I inquired when AP rates for summer will be released. She told me that AP rates were blocke out from June until August 23rd and there will no AP rate. I asked if she was sure, she said yes.

Anybody know if this is true? Not good news if it is.

Its too early for any CM to know if rates for June will be available or not. Probably the earliest they would be released (if so) would be late April (ish). As an example, I called couple years ago to book and there were no AP rates. I inquired and the CM said due to projected bookings, discounts would not be available and that they have been booking most resorts solid. I think this was back in August 05. About a week later, I called again just to check and the CM told me that the AP rates were just released 2 days ago for my travel time. We talked a little and she said that even as CM's they do not know when discounts are released until they get the info.

Just my 2 cents.

We got an AP discount last July 12-16 at WL.

As the PP said, I can't imagine they would already know in January that there will be no AP rates for summer. Take it with a grain of salt.

I would guess that the CM is referring to the current 40% of AP pins that went out they only were good until the 6th of June and started back up the 23rd of Aug.

I'm waiting for one too. I spoke with a CM who said that the AP rates would probably be released after the Free Dining promo (if it's offered) expires. She thought I could start looking in June since last year the AP rates came out the day after the FD promo expired. Her info checked out with Mousesavers. I looked in the historical rate release section and she was right, so hopefully this year follows the same pattern!

We switched to an AP rate last year in early/mid May (maybe it was actually around the 20th) for July 1-17. I remember people being excited because it was a bit earlier than the previous years had been released.

Anyway, we were able to apply an ap rate to our entire stay including 4th of July

In the past, I have booked a room and as the date got closer, I called and changed my rate to the AP rate. And if nothing else, the cancel policy is 56 days prior to arrival for AP room only ressies so if there is no AP rates, you can cancel. But at least you have a room reserved. Just a thought.
