AP rates at Value Resorts??

With all the talk about AP rates coming out, I'm just wondering if there are ever AP rates for the value resorts and if it would save me any money to buy one for a 5 night stay in April at Pop Century. I'm hoping to talk DH in buying DVC before the end of 2004 so the AP might be a good thing as far as multiple trips, but it's not a guarantee that we'll be back within a year (DH can be stubborn). TIA

I say go for it! I did it for our trip in a couple of weeks. The money I saved was more than the difference of a 5-day Hoppers vs. the AP (just bought one as we probably won't be back until next year after it expires).

I'm staying at Pop Century too -- for $49 per night. Gotta love it! :bounce:

I'm not sure if and when there would be AP rates in April though . . . since I'm an AP newbie. Somebody else might be able to help with that question.

Another cheap AP rate here for All Star Music 12/13-12/20. $49 per night! Whoopie!
I would have gone Pop Century too, but the AP rates were not offered opening week. :(
If I'm not mistaken, the only value resort rarely seen in the discounts in ASMovies.

I would not buy the AP until you really need to. You can make AP reservations without it since you don't need it until you actually check in.

If you are only looking at a 5 day trip and you're staying at a value resort, I'm not sure that you will save enough to justify the cost of the APs. You'll have to check rates and prices when and if AP rates come out.

One more thing ... if you are hoping for discount rates around Easter I think you'll be disappointed :(. Here are historical trends for codes from Mousesavers: http://www.mousesavers.com/faq.html#codetrends

Thank you for the info. That's kind of what I wondered if the difference in price would justify the difference in the cost of the AP vs a PH. I had also heard that the ASMo was rarely included and wondered if PC would be excluded being so new. I guess we'll just have to book our room and hope for the best. As for going at Easter...LOL I'm not even sure when Easter is this next year. I just know that we'll be there during DS's Spring Break. Thanks for the input!

When I called CRO, I was told PC was not included during opening week, but after talking to someone on the Dis, it is AP discounted after that....argh.

so, I figured there would be no AP or FLA res rates for Easter and Spring Break, but when they have offered them, how soon AFTER Easter week are they available? Easter this year is on the 11th so the week would end on the 18th and we want to check in on the 19th for 4 nights...how soon after Easter week ended have people gotten the rates?

Peak Season ends April 17, 2004: Regular Season starts April 18, 2004....so you will have a better chance getting a AP rate with your dates.::yes::

AP rates $49. Code out now without AP rate $55. Of course the code has limited dates, but AP rates are no more guaranteed than a code for the time you are going. Wait until you go to make a decision on if it is best to buy an AP, but don't wait to book. You can get the discounts applied, if available, after you already have a ressie.
