AP Rates are out!

I just called back to see if there would be a difference between the "AP" rate and the "AP4" rate. The CM I just talked to said that the best rate she could give me at the DLH was $221 (even though I just booked 10 minutes ago at $149)! :lmao:

She put me on hold and talked to her supervisor, then came back and said AP4 rates would not become available until approx. 30 days in advance.

Just goes to show you that you really need to keep calling back until you get the answer YOU want. :lmao:

That is bizarre! Why did everyone else get that rate?:confused3

OMG!
I caved!
I called DLR and booked a standard city room view at PPH for $129 with the AP rate.
I told the CM that I was planning to buy my AP when we arrive so I didn't have an AP number to give him.
He said it was fine and that I could buy my AP when we check in at the front desk. YAY!!:tigger:

At least I have the room reserved, now I need to decide whether I want to keep the ressies at PPH, Hojo's or Park Vue. Decisions...decisions....

I just called to book a second vacation Dec 14 & 15 and the availablity that they had this morning is all gone! The ap discount rooms go quickly. Glad so many of us could get in on the good deal.

I just got 2 evenings in Oct. for the $169 rate at PP standard view concierge. :woohoo:

They said they were all sold out of the Grand and Disney Hotel. I had to call twice since the first time the person said they do not have an "AP4 rate." So I asked for the "AP" rate and they quoted me close to $300 for just a standard rate no concierge at PP.

So I called again and on the second try they found the "AP4" rate at time I wanted to go. I would have loved the Grand or Disney Hotel but this is better than nothing.

So it does pay to call back and talk to someone different since it seems not everyone knows what to do.

Does anyone have pictures of the concierge level for PP? Thanks

I'm with you HOJO at ent rate or PP Concierge for 189 for five nights, I think I'm gonna have to go for PP........

I hate to say it, but I think I'm going to cancel the DLH. Chalk it up to a moment of temporary insanity. Y'all just got me so pumped up about the AP rates!

I just can't justify giving up a 700 sq ft suite at the HoJo with full kitchen and 2 bathrooms, and right across the street from MiMi's Cafe (for $99) for a standard city view room at the DLH (for $149+resort fees). The walk is about the same (if you don't use the monorail) and the only thing I'm giving up at the DLH is one extra day of EE.

I think I'll take the $250 in savings and get an extra ps for a character meal or maybe the holiday tour. . . (funny how I consider it "savings" now -- I wasn't saving anything until I booked at the DLH!) :lmao:

I'll probably stew about it a bit more over the weekend, but I do want to cancel ASAP in order to free up those dates for someone else who wants them. :goodvibes

I have a few questions about the AP rates. (I can't believe the Grand Californian Concierge is almost half price!)

1. How many times a year do they release AP rates and when?

2. How did the AP's find out about it?

3. Did it start today?

4. My dates in Nov are not available today for the rate, but if I keep trying could they become available?

I really appreciate all the valuable advice everyone offers!!!

This is my first AP Rate...When I became an ap holder you download a program called I believe Dashboard. A spinny thing comes up on your computer when their is a new message. That is where I found the rate. You can also log into the AP section of Disneyland.com for the rate. I have no idea how often they are released but I do remember talk of an ap rate back in Jan/Feb in 2007.

:cool1: thanks for the info! i, too, was wondering how you all knew about the rates! i never dl'd anything, and didn't check the website in a while... i'll talk to dbf to see if he maybe wants to get a night.... we're extremely flexible on travel days from september until december!! :goodvibes
thanks!!

Will the Gay Day events affect attendance past Oct 8th?? We were thinking Oct 11-12...should we move it to the next week to help avoid extra crowds? or is it over by then?

thanks

Really? I just asked for the AP rate.... and I got the super cheap rate. Huh, weird..... But I had the gay days rate before hand, and I told the guy that I heard the AP rates had just come out.

What dates did you request? We are going the Dec 5-9 and she said nothing for that time frame at GC with the AP4 rate.:confused3

If the cm on the phone quotes you a higher price, call back and try again. Dh called yesterday at 8 am and the cm he first spoke to originally quoted him rack rate, not paying any attention to the fact that dh told him that he was looking for an AP rate. When the cm finally realized that dh was asking for the AP rate , the cm quoted him the 10% off AP discount, not much of a savings compared to the AP4 rate. So dh hung up and called back and the next cm was well informed of the AP4 rate and took the time to find out the different rates for the different hotel with and without concierge. We were looking for rates for Oct and the only hotel w/o availability for our entire stay was GCH.

Thanks OP for the great savings!!!

Mine are form the 3rd-7th of October... I just called back today, and they were already out of that rate! Good thing I called yesterday...

I booked the DLH concierge room for 209 a night. for sept, the weekend after labor day. . . they said GCH was all sold out. . . I figured what the heck, i promised the kids one weekend at the DLH, why not do the concierge and get some munchies out of it too!

arliepooh - I contemplated concierge or not for the same dates and went with just a DTD view room. DD is graduating from the Disney College Program that weekend (Sept 7-9) and I had booked a cast member rate months ago at the Grand of $266/night. Not a good deal for that time of year. I have called back many times to see if anything better has come along and the Grand has been sold out for months that weekend! So, yesterday they offered the AP4 rate (we have AP's) at $169 DTD view or $209 concierge at DL Hotel. I thought about it, but not for too long cause those rates go fast and took the view room. So we are saving $200 to stay at DL Hotel for two nights. I think it is a pretty good deal myself:)
Maybe we will see you there:dance3:
