I just bought our AP's. I understand the first day of activations is the start date for the year. I won't active our AP's until we arrive but I want to get the AP rate on room for the fall. How can I do this? I do have the confirmation # of course.

There isn't an AP rate out for the fall yet, but you can call to book when it comes out. You don't need an active AP to book; you just have to have one when checking in (though many people - myself included - haven't actually been asked to show it at the resort, possibly because the CMs can see it on your account).

We are AP holders - my suggestion would be to try to get a general public rate as soon as they are released (which will be before the AP rates come out usually in August...right now general public discounts have been released thru early October)...then, when AP rates are released you can try to get that rate. It has gotten more difficult to obtain AP room discounts, especially on standard rooms so you don't want to put all your hopes for a discount on just an AP rate.
Once you register online for fastpasses and ADR, etc., they have your ticket information online-you will still need to have your ticket at WDW to activate it and also to show it for discounts at restaurants and shops.

Last year the AP rates for fall came out in June, I think. Since you have only an AP voucher at this point, I don't think you can get into the passholder section of MDE, but I could be mistaken. When the AP rates come out, I think you'll have to give a call back to reservations and have them change it for you.

I don't think you will be able to see the AP rates (once released for your dates) on MDE until you activate the AP. (If you click on the online offer at disney.com, then 'check availability,' you'll be referred to a screen to buy an AP. This happens often even with an active AP - if not logged in, if the site is grumpy, etc....)

If that's the case, you'll need to call to learn the prices and book. (I just can't remember if I saw them pre-activation. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong!)

Actually, I believe you put in the code found on the back of your voucher to register your AP on MDE - just like you would the tickets you purchase in advance...that way you can make your fastpass reservations, etc. You will then be able to see if there are AP rates when you click on the resort reservations link.

If your AP voucher is linked to MDE, you can see available AP room rates.
Correct. You do not have to activate your AP to see AP rates on MDE. You just have to have purchased the AP voucher, or registered it, in your MDE account
Then, as long as you are signed in to your MDE account, you can see Passholder rates

If you link the voucher to your MDE account, you can access AP discounts even if the AP is not activated.

I am in this situation right now. I have my AP linked to my MDE account, but I haven't actually activated and used the AP. When I sign into MDE, I'm able to see the AP rates that are available.
