**AP RATE** Watch thread past Aug 23rd

It looks like this year they are keeping a tighter control on when they release discounts, looking at occupancy levels. Why would they release discounts if they have few empty rooms? If they have alot of empty rooms, they would probably give bigger discounts trying to fill them. So they are waiting longer to decide. I think 2000 was the first time they offered AP rates in the fall, before that they didn't release any for the fall since it was already value season. On the other hand, the economy was booming then. I would not count on a discount, make a reservation where you can afford and then if discounts come out change it.

Called last night to make some modifications to my reservation for WL in December and the CM stated he fully expected rate discounts to be released in the next couple of weeks. I don't think its a done deal yet.

I think we'll keep our reservation as is and just make another at a moderate resort. If the rates do come out and we cancel the moderate, will they transfer that deposit to the reservation we are keeping? Have I confused everyone yet?

SnowWhite33....it's okay to vent alittle!! I feel the same way.

That being said...they may not allow you to have 2 reservations covering the same time period.
You may be able to make 2 ressies if the time frames are a bit different. Once we had to make 2 seperate ressies that kinda overlapped because our vacation time off from work was not definite and I didn't want to lose the discount.
But I was told I could not carry 2 reservations for the same time frame.....well, because obviously you won't be staying at both places.

They may however do a "courtesy hold" for 2 weeks giving you time to decide between 2 resorts. We have done that before.

I was hoping for Oct AP rates too!!
We have FTP, but plan on returning next June, so if AP rates are good, we might go with that instead.

But the interesting bit on Mousesavers to me is this -

Watch this weekend for Annual Passholder rates covering the same period of time!

So hopefully some of us will only have a couple more days to wait!!

i called this morning 7/24 and the CM indicated that it should be soon according to what she read on her computer. She said that the new release will be for rates up to Oct. 1
soooo everyone that needs them START calling at 7am each morning-GOOD LUCK!
I have to wait until next release for our Nov. trip!
